I have been elected as the congressman from South Dakota. Thank you to those who voted for me--especially you, Doc Walt.

I am happy to serve in the US Congress, and excited to get to work. I have much to learn, but am delighted to learn it from the many congressional veterans; I know I will have to work harder than most due to the time difference between Japan and the continental US, but I am ready to meet the effort with willpower.

I also plan to keep up with my support for the Community Development Program and my (unofficial) presence in the Welcoming Committee thread.

Thank you for your support, and to all those in Congress: I look forward to working with you.
