Join the new world

Dear Citizens of Northwest of Ireland,

I am writing to you, the citizens of great Northwest of Ireland, the great region of Ireland. Below, you will see my platform which includes my views and philosophies on the economics, warfare, and politics of eRepublik.

Military


In eIreland the military plays a large role. It is a large organization that provides many citizens jobs, if not paying, but leveling and teaching experiences. Before I continue, I would like to make clear that the Military is not only people who click on the fight button. They take much strategy into it, calculate anything well before they go into it, and help run organizations or fundraisers to help fund themselves. Knowing this, I would like to keep our Military a large part of the eIrish life, and would hope to help bring the military to be not among the top, but to be the sole top in eRepublik. This is no task that can be accomplished solely, but the combined efforts of many. The Military will provide many new citizens with ways to keep them with eRepublik and help them and many veteran citizens and all in between with their daily lifestyles by Training Wars. The use of Training wars helps all citizens fight to get experience, then heal up at a Q5 hospital thus getting them experience and higher wellness. Due to the excellent, nature, and pro’s of Training Wars, I am in full support of them as long as they do not affect any trading or arise any issues (Say we were to do a training war against the EDEN Countries, I would not want any issues with exports).

Training Wars only provide us practice for the real things. The real wars are what we all get ready for, and that includes congress aid to the Military. I am pro funding the Military, but I also believe in the famous statement “I will only help you if you help yourself”. With this being said, and like I said earlier, one citizen can only make so much of a difference. This is why I would like to help the Military run fundraisers, such as Government run Lotteries that have 80-90% of the money rewarded and the rest being given to the Military. If re-elected I will make sure to continue the push to get our wargames back so we can get Ireland healthy and strong again.

International Affairs


Alliances are also a major thing in the Military of eRepublik. As you are probably aware, we have never been a part of the Phoenix (Formerly PEACE) or EDEN Alliance. I have always been a part of this slightly radical yet crazy idea, even thought I know that there is so little that one can do, and I can only hope that when elected to Dail that I can help bring this together, with the refinement of others. I will outline my Idea her shortly.

- A Coalition of Independent Countries (ICC, Independent Country Coalition)
- It is not an alliance of any sorts, just a coalition
- Beginning with around 5 countries
- More countries are to be invited to join after a passing vote
- Specifically made for smaller countries which aren’t on the “Big Scale” in the world, but want to be able to make it up there
- The Coalition will have a large MPP in the case that one country is to be attacked unprovoked
- The Leaders of the country will have Weekly/Monthly meetings to discuss War, Economy, Foreign Affairs, etc.

I understand that there is still much to be changed/added to this idea, but I believe it is one that can be lead to success with time.
As far as current alliances go, I am also a supporter of Entente, the rising alliance which contains France, Italy, Paraguay, and Ukraine.

Taxes


Taxes are never a fun topic, especially for those of us who pay them. In eRepublik that is all of us, whether you are the one who buys or the one who sells you are affected by a tax, be it VAT (Tax on Goods) or Income Tax (Tax for Business Owners).

There have always been some talks of adding import tax to Raw Materials companies, to let our nations smaller companies flourish. Simply put, we should NOT change our Import Tax. I have a few key reasons for this

1) We do not have any High regions in Ireland.
2) The Majority of Importers are from countries that we find friendly
3) Many Organizations, such as the government ones are not able to move out of country, purchase, and donate to themselves.

I understand that we will have to compete a little with Grain, but that is worth it for the ability to have fair raw materials.

As far as the rest of the Taxes (Manufacturing Import, all VAT, Income Tax etc.) I believe that they are fine as they are and are not conflicting with our economy. This is all as of right now of course, with the launch of V2 upcoming soon, it is expected that with the new system and new products there will be many changes.

Hospitals/Defense Systems

I will relate this strongly to what I talked about military funding in the paragraphs above. I believe that we should run Country wide, government sponsored fundraisers such as lotteries that will use a portion of the money made toward funding, but use the majority as prizes so that we can get maximal participation. In saying that, I am Pro-Q5 for every region, and I will make sure that the current plan is maintained.

First off, I would like to thank you, the loyal citizens of Northwest of Ireland for reading my Congressional Platform. I hope that you read the platforms of all the other candidates and vote for who you agree with most. I would rather have the best candidate for congress rather than the popular kid on the block. With writing that, I can only hope that you agree with my views and do end up voting for me.
