Garven Speaks about the Government!
Garven Dreis
As Cozza's Government is approximately 2/3rds the way through their current term, I thought it'd be appropriate to critique the current government and to offer eAustralia a view as I see it into the successes and not so good points of the current government. The point of this article is highlight particular points, and is no way connected to the current impeachment proposal being voted on by senate (It also looks set to fail).
Broad Summary;
Government receives a C-
Notable achievements; Held all current eAustralian Territories. Slightly boosted activity levels.
Negative Points; Lack of coordination with allies, regular updates regarding cabinet, no progress with membership to EDEN,
Mitigating Factors: International political climate (World War).
In depth analysis;
(If you think that something is missing when it should be added, please comment below.)
National Goals
Out of the three possible candidates, Cozza's was the most radical, which identified two eIndonesian regions which Cozza intended to take. In hindsight, this belief that eIndonesia would be attacked is the sole reason why eBrazil attacked eAustralia in the first place, and also the chance of eBrazil to actually have a war.
With the treasury lost, It would have been interesting to see how it was planned to take Northern Cape and Western Cape, as our military on a good day can put down about 25% of what eIndonesia can output. Our military would clearly be outmatched by eIndonesia without foreign support or cooperation. If the national goals were a bit different, would it make much of a difference? The reader can make their own conclusion to that question.
Election Promises
Foreign Affairs
From what I can gather, not much has happened in this sector. While a "This shows USA and Canada have genuine concern for Australia, and we should extend this generosity both ways, and look to support them in a more formal fashion" was thrown in, not much has grown from this. Governments should always make sure they are in regular contact with their allies, as the ball has been in Cozza's court regarding EDEN for a little while now.
Culture
I haven't seen much about the cultural side and the babyboom, as It as not been covered by Cozza. I assume that it is still all in the planning stages, so it remains to be seen whether anything will be implemented.
Direct Democracy
An idea that was previously spearheaded (to my knowledge) by Derek Apollyon, the idea behind it was a very solid one and it had much potential, however, not much has been done with it since the migration to the new forums, or even before, as the last post made in that subforum was the 30th of November. I am unsure whether this program is still active or not, however, I believe the idea is solid and should recieve some attention.
Defence
After all the talk and worry about the military structure being changed, and the giant point being made about it before and during elections, nothing has happened. The mitigating factor here would be the invasion by Brazil, however, with the current lull in the conflict, it is an appropriate time to investigate this avenue further.
and finally..
Cabinet Critique
Prime Minister: Cozza
Has done okay, focuses on particular areas without considering other areas, otherwise has done well to rally eAustralia during the invasion. Still the question about the Executive Orders earlier in the term, as now the immediate danger is over, it should be high time to bring these actions to light.
Deputy Prime Minister: Derek Apollyon
Left about half way through the term due to personal reasons. Not much else to say rather than some advice for others: if you attempt something that brings lulz to you, don't do it when people are trying to do important things. You end up annoying the hell out of others.
Minister of Defence: Sir Constant
Deputy: Bass Junkie
Ministry of Defence receives my congratulations, probably the only department that has functioned with premium effort the entire time. No major dramas have arisen, and I believe that the combination of Sir Constant and Bass Junkie in this situation was highly successful. Well done guys!
Minister of Economic: Newt Gingrich
Deputy: Dylan of the Darkness
This folio was interesting, as it essentially combined Finance with Industry, something traditionally separated by previous governments. Two major problems have arisen in my mind; 1) PP Housing wasn't given funding until the 26th of December, a problem which was quickly rectified once it was brought to light, and 2), the lack of Skill 0 jobs directing people into different industries. I have been advised that several industries are currently oversaturated, while other industries, such as the mid tier weapon market, need more attention by the Government. Otherwise, not much trouble in other areas.
Minister of Cultural Services: DyceyFarley.
Well, I come straight out and say I haven't seen much out of the MoCS this term. In my personal experience this term, I believe the MoCS was busy doing other things, and was not giving full attention to her portfolio. To my knowledge, none of the initiatives were implemented, and it has been rumoured that Dycey Farley has stepped down due to personal reasons, however, no statement has been released.
Minister of Information: Timeoin
Tim was removed from Cabinet. He was replaced by CoreyBlake, who did release a podcast which was well done. In my opinion, Podcasts are the way to go, so well done Corey!
Minister of Foreign Affairs: Patti11
In the beginning of the term, Patti11 was very active in foreign affairs, however, as the term has progressed, it is my opinion that less is being achieved. Although there has been minimal discussion about joining EDEN, it has not progressed past banter this term.
Minister of Immigration, Customs & Security: Ezekiel Thomas
Seeing as no credible PTO threat has arisen, I assume that the MoICS portfolio has been well handled. There a issues with Aussie Citizenship on forums, but I am confident that these kinks will be worked out soon.
Conclusion
The above statements may look like I am just bagging out the current government, but without a perspective about how the Government has traveled so far, we wouldn't be able to do better and achieve the goals we set. I hope the current government takes a good hard look at what they could do better, and do it over the next 9 or so days they still have in government.

First DENIED
Nice article! It's great that there are people out there like you who actually pay attention to what our leaders are doing, and explain it in simple terms for the rest of us 😃
I look forward to your next one!

Interesting read, Well done
There is a problem with Dycey's portfolio. I believe her portfolio should be "First Lady", as that's how she acted the entire time.

I'd like to know what, if anything, the MoE's have actually been doing. No Money Market wall that I've seen since Brazil bought it out pre-invasion, and Centrelink's government companies appear to not be being run at all. I'm utterly appalled by how inactive the NMRC has been allowed to fall this term - something like 4 or 5 active workers, a stack of zombies, and last I checked no job offers. Being in cabinet isn't about getting a cool new title to throw in your forum sig.
Nice article GD, very objective and accurate IMO. Voted.
Ye didnt personally see alot of stuff going down and communication was pretty bad. However it did inspire alot of active senators to run and hopefully it will be improved upon next Cp term.
Cozza is such a bad president. i hope the impeachment works. I haven't even seen one newspaper from him telling us what he is doing.
I happen to agree with Cozza as PM. He's not doing a half bad job for someone who has never done this job before. My big complaint is that he hasn't put up many articles. In Cozza's defense, he can only do so much with his cabinet ministers. Their departments are only as efficient as those ministers want them to be.

'nuff said.
voted. i encourage more people to speak up and publish their opinion on all our elected leaders.
I disagree Derek, this is a very interesting article and one of the most important things in a democracy is the citizens right to question and criticise the government.
As a new player I have only recently formed opinions on the government and the different factions in this country. If the government wants to generate better public opinion maybe they should communicate what they are doing for the country slightly better.
This Article is not trolling, it is a constructive report providing criticisms to the current Government.
Articles like this are quite healthy for the PM and his cabinet as it keeps them on their toes and provides feedback so they can improve on their administration in the future.
In fact, Garven is conducting himself like any other Opposition Leader or Minister would do. If you believe he is trolling then you must think Malcolm Turnbull or Tony Abbot merely trolls the Rudd Govt.
So just sit back and think about what you are saying before you start flaming peoples articles and become a troll yourself.
Tecchi Out.
> If you believe he is trolling then you must think Malcolm Turnbull or Tony Abbot merely trolls the Rudd Govt.
I think they do sometimes. 😁
thumbs up 🙂
Nice article and I look forward to reading more like it in the future. Feedback is imprortant to give and recieve when it is constructive, as this is.
@ Discrate
That is because you have been here 5 DAYS 😛

Great article Garven
really? " this belief that eIndonesia would be attacked is the sole reason why eBrazil attacked eAustralia in the first place" ??? So that london objective in my national goals is why hungary keeps attacking us? And brazil helps SA by holding their lands? " this belief that eIndonesia would be attacked is the sole reason why eBrazil attacked eAustralia in the first place" I can't get over that statement.
And the only measure of foriegn affairs is getting into Eden? I know plenty of americans who fought for you many times and we dont have a treaty. the eUS got and gave plenty of help to Eden before the treaty.
and before you make fun of homeless people, the aussie in Avatar was homeless. "Garven Dreis 3 hours ago Hey Derek

Derek is the one acting like a sore loser here... you're the only troll here and that's one thing for certain
cheap q2 weapons...pm me...
This is an accurate discription of the Govemrnets abilities. However there as been a big isue. Yoiu know with war and all the Politial disputes.
Thanks Garven for the kind words, but podcasts will die as soon as I leave the MoIF
Great article. It's awesome that there are people out there like you who scrutinize what the government is doing - and explain in simple terms.
Nice analysis Garven, thanks.
First up great article!
@Adam Creedy: I don't think anyone should be excused because they're doing a job for the first time, least of all the PM. It might be the electorate's fault for electing an inexperienced PM but at least we learn.
AND.. Part of the job of the PRIME minister is to deal/take care of the other ministers and make sure they do their jobs and that their departments are functioning properly.
The eAustralian public is waking up and taking the eNation more seriously! It's a good sign!
Garven, THIS is why I voted for you for PM.
If one is not able to properly and concisely criticize their government's flaws, one is not suitable to lead said government.
I do hope you run again next term, because you'll have my vote.
