Games No More

Day 684, 08:20 Published in Iran Iran by Rugian

Iranian soldiers sit around, bored and without any war games to participate in. Unfortunately those games will have to be suspended for the time being, as Lithuania finds itself embroiled in a very real war with Poland.

The Polish congress is currently debating a declaration of war against Lithuania. With less than two hours before debate ends, it looks like it will be passed by a large margin. By all accounts, Lithuania has done nothing to warrant a war, and the Polish press seems to touting this as an opportunity to grab land for their country and to humiliate a friend of the PEACE alliance.*

Should the Polish army initiate an offensive today, it will represent not only an unprovoked attack on an innocent country, but also a strike by an EDEN member against someone who has long participated in PEACE war games.

In the war games, Lithuania enjoys the support of no less than thirty allies. In reality, however, the country only has alliances with two countries: France and China. As a result, on paper this could be a very costly war for Lithuania. Even if the Polish army is pushed back, it may be able to destroy hospitals and defensive structures and seriously cripple the country's infrastructure.

Such a blatant attack against an undeserving victim, even when viewed within the frame of the global PEACE-Fortis/Eden conflict, is unacceptable. Many citizens of PEACE countries have already volunteered to fight on the Lithuanian side, and members of the Iranian military should be there with them. After all, why send soldiers to gain experience in war games, when real war is so much more effective?
