Today is a big day for both two nations. Today is the 94. Aniversary of the Galipolli Wars. It’s the day when two nations rise and reborn again.
Even though we were on different sides, both of us are proud to fight againist a respected and honorable fighters. You came to Galipolli from very long distance to show your loyalty to your country and fight with your honor. We fought for defending our country. As Turks, we have never seen Anzacs and Avustralians as enemy but as brother who came from long distances.
Now our ancestors rest in peace and lie side by side in Galipolli.
On the behalf of all Turks, me and my government salute your country and remember those honorable and respectful days.
Regards

The Gallipoli Campaign, Dardanelles Campaign or the Çanakkale wars

In Australia the campaign represents the first great international conflict experienced by our nation.

The ANZACs are revered as heroes, and the popular phrase 'digger' used to describe soldiers at Gallipoli has come to describe all members of the Australian armed forces, particularly members of the Army. Popular Australian history asserts that while the Federation of Australia was born in 1901, the country's true psychological independence was only achieved at Gallipoli.

Although 18th March is seen as the start of the campaign, Australia celebrates 25th April as ANZAC day as that is the day of the landings.

Through this campaign both our countries gained a bond of friendship which exists to this day.

We salute the 57th Ottoman Infantry Regiment who gave everything to defend their lands.
“ I do not expect you to attack, I order you to die. In the time which passes until we die, other troops and commanders can come forward and take our places. “

We salute you as friends
