Free Belgian Tax Policy
Ragoth
The current tax rates are stiffing the ability for eBelgium to get back on it's feet after independence, specifically the import duties which make little sense considering how little resourses we have besides grain.
My proposal:
20%-30% import tax for everything except bread at 99% and raw materials at 1%, the key here is protecting Belgian business while also creating enough supply to cover domestic demand. At 20-30% local business gain a price advantage in addition to avoiding the costs of an import license.
VAT 1% except grain at 10%. A VAT encourages domestic producers to export and raises prices on imports, but could be a way to generate some income so possibly just for food as grain is what we have a lot of and the demand is so inelastic .
Across the bored income tax of 15%-20%. This would be our breadbasket so to speak bringing in the vast majority of tax income. While most company managers will flout this, every citizen has to work and automatically pays taxes creating a steady income stream.

99% income tax for goods, seriously
"Vote + Sub" You failed : 0 😛
No seriously. We are going to think about it, but there are better ways than what you are proposing. I'm sure of that.
The 99% import duty makes a lot less sense when everybody has org accounts that can circumvent them, this isn't based on some RL free trade ideology, this is based on the current and quite successful eUS tax policy. Look at the market place, only 2 companies selling moving tickets, 6 gifts? Maybe after Belgian infrastructure is increased import duties can be raised but at the moment they should be low.
😮
I will not criticize nor say what will work and what won't. I applaud you Ragoth for putting these ideas forward. It is ideas like these that we need to keep our minds open to in order to bring in revenue and build our industry. I thank you for these ideas Ragoth and consider my mind open. Until it is determined what works and what doesn't, I welcome all ideas
I have doubts whether eUSpolicy could just be brought in practice in eBelgium, but it's good someone opens up the debats 🙂
"VAT 1% except grain at 10%"
Please learn the game mechanics first. Thank you.
