It has been suggested that my recent statement on better relations with eIsrael makes me a Zionist.

This term holds very deep emotions for many people, so I feel the need to answer this issue.

1) On the RL Israel/Palestinian issue. Israel currently exists, and within the territory it currently controls, there are Palestinians who do not enjoy full rights of citizenship to any country. I believe the continued persistence of this injustice to be stain on all our consciences. This should not continue, I hope for a fair and just solution for all Palestinians and Israelis.

2) In the eWorld, there is no Zionist state. Israel is the name of a country, but there is no mechanism in the game to secure it as 'Jewish' (ANYONE can be born into this country and the government cannot control this)

3) If you look at the eRepublik map you will see that West Bank and Gaza are not included within the territorial boundaries of eIsrael and although there is a 'Jerusalem District' there is no indication that this includes 'East Jerusalem'. So in fact the Admins appear to have fully accepted the two-state solution. In fact if the Palestinians had been offered a deal along the lines of what has been provided in eRepublik, the entire Israel-Palestine issue would have been resolved years ago! Full right of return, return to 1967 borders, inclusion of East Jerusalem. If only we could bring our e-World to the Real World!


So in summary, I see no reason why Israel and Egypt cannot be the best of friends in eRepublik. We won't be yet, we're in different alliances, but let's not lose this opportunity to promote a little peace and understanding, at least in the e-World.
