Fox Blutch vs. Kazuo Leblanc - Q&A

Day 1,076, 21:02 Published in Canada Canada by Kronos Q

Last Wednesday I asked a few questions to any and all Country President hopefuls. I've received two sets of answers thus far, one from Fox Blutch and another from Kazuo LeBlanc. I'd like to publish their answers in the media so that more people can see what they have to say.

For TL😉R, scroll to the bottom.

So, what were the questions?

#1. When it comes to your Cabinet, what are the duties of each position?

#2. What will be your main focus during your term? (ie. foreign relations, military, domestic, etc.)

#3. When you leave office, what imprint do you want to leave behind (or, what would you have liked to have changed)?

From Christian Doe,
#4 How do plan to manage your governmental organization passwords? Where will you store them and with whom are you going to share them?

Now for the responses... When reading the responses, I find that it's not only important to read them at face value, but to look a little further and see what else this shows about them. The way that they present their ideas can tell you just as much about them as the ideas themselves. I am taking the responses directly as they were given in the topic (found here: http://ecanada.cc/epic/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=311).

Fox Blutch's Response

#1. When it comes to your Cabinet, what are the duties of each position?

Vice-President - Principal advisor of the CP, will have access to the CP's account to intervene in case of an urgent situation. I trust Nosyt 100%, so he won't TO my account.
Chief of Staff - Will coordinate the activites of all ministers and will make a weekly report of the cabinet's situation.
Minister of Foreign Affairs - Will represent eCanada in EDEN and will lead the ambassador's team.
Minister of Defense - Will be the principal military advisor and will be in charge of the civil defense.
Minister of Finances - Will be in charge of the budget and responsible of economic reforms.
Minister of Justice - In charge of introducing a new constitution and new judicial reforms. Will also focus on codifying jurisprudential principles.
Minister of Information - Is in charge of making governmental announces and reviving the official gazette of the executive.
Minister of Social Affairs - Will direct the education and immigration department. Reviving the education system and introduce a program to rally more new players and immigrants.
Military Advisor and Negociator for the alliances - The name says it all, I think....
Auditor General - Will check where every penny is going and will advise the CP on future fundings.
Minister of the Butt - Butt-whipping and butt-kicking, that's TemujinBC's job.
First Lady - Will provide stress release at night.

#2. What will be your main focus during your term? (ie. foreign relations, military, domestic, etc.)

I think I explained it all here: http://ecanada.cc/epic/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=310

#3. When you leave office, what imprint do you want to leave behind (or, what would you have liked to have changed)?

Without a hesitation, I want people to completely regain confidence in the CP institution. I believe that with Alias's term and mine, people will completely put mayhem behind them and grant their trust once again to the executive. I don't plan to be perfect this month, nobody has been, but I will execute my duties and my obligations as CP with integrity and honesty if I'm elected.

I would also like to leave the CP bureau thinking that I've made the institution more public, by being active in my newspaper, on IRC and by establishing a strong governmental official newspaper. (Roger Griswald has my full trust on that)

#4 How do plan to manage your governmental organization passwords? Where will you store them and with whom are you going to share them?

Each minister will have its respective Org password, Nosyt and I will have a list of all Orgs with their passwords. I will store that list in my external hardrive. Don't know about the others. Passwords of the orgs will be changed weekly.

Regarding the constitution thing, MoI doesn't exist anymore, the constitution has to be changed regarding the executive positions. I agree with Kronos Q that the constitution should only cover the general obligations and duties and not provide a specific list of cabinet positions

Kazuo Leblanc's Response

1 - When it comes to your cabinet, what are the duties of each position?

I intend to run a highly centralized government, which will result in a dramatically smaller cabinet. I will have the following portfolios:

National Affairs - Combined Justice, Immigration, and Education. Will be responsible for assisting with my agenda for Constitutional and educational reform.
Foreign Affairs - Will be responsible, with War, for advancing my agenda for World Domination.
War - Will be responsible, with Foreign Affairs, for advancing my agenda for World Domination.
Treasury - Will be responsible for balancing the budget to advance all of my agenda.

2 - What will be your main focus during your term? (ie. foreign relations, military, domestic, etc.)

My short agenda will let me provide equal focus, and accomplish, my entire platform. I foresee that the domestic parts will be fairly quick, so I anticipate that I will spend the most of my energy on foreign affairs as I redefine Canada's role on the world stage.

3 - When you leave office, what imprint do you want to leave behind (or, what would you have liked to have changed)?

I want to be the Prime Minister that reminds us all why we're eCanadians, and brings us out of this national malaise of boredom. My plans for education will bring new players into the loop faster, and keep them there. My plans for World Domination will provide excitement we have not seen since World War III. In short, I want November to be the month we remembered why we play.

#4 How do plan to manage your governmental organization passwords? Where will you store them and with whom are you going to share them?

Too many cooks spoil the soup, and accountability in a Leblanc government stops with me. In order to completely eliminate any avenue for , I will be the sole password holder in-game for all government organizations except for Canadian National Defense, which will also be held by the Minister of War. My RL partner, who is studying abroad and does not play, will have the backup passwords.

Kronos Q's Counter-Response

These are good responses. They provided me with more information about the candidates than the articles they have published to date. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily, but it means that their view of what they think the eCanadian public wants to hear is different than what I want to hear. Maybe I'm just being picky? Anyway...

I couldn't say who answered the questions better overall. Fox provided a more thorough answer for number one. Kazuo provided a more accurate answer [to what I was asking] for number two. Kazuo provided what seemed to be a more honest and progressive answer for number three. Fox provided a more reasonable and [seemingly] efficient answer for number four.

They're both coming from different directions. Fox seems to be heading towards Governmental stability, while Kazuo is working towards making it more enjoyable for the public. Both are important goals, so the question may come down to being: Which of them knows what eCanada wants more?

What do you think about their answers?

TL😉R: Read the article. Then ask the CP candidates questions.
