Foreigners' Guide to eNew Zealand

Day 1,539, 17:29 Published in New Zealand USA by Fionia

Kia ora, mates. This article is for all of you out there who know pretty much nothing about eNew Zealand.

* Kia ora is a greeting in the Maori language, basically means "hi"

The Basics

The one thing that everybody seems to know is that there are a large number of former eSerbians here. That's the extent of what most people know (or will acknowledge about eNZ).

But there are two or three things that more people need to know and not ignore:
1) There is a smaller but still significant number of English-speakers/non-Serbians here;
2) There are several RL Kiwis (NZers), and several people with RL Kiwi heritage, including our current, now two-term president, Xanthar Zaiban;
3) At the end of the day, we are all eKiwis. It doesn't matter what language we speak or what country we came from in RL or in eRep, if our country is on the line, we will all fight for it.

Like any other eCountry, we have our forum and IRC channels.

Forum: http://erepubliknz.freeforums.org/index.php: the forum is mainly used by the English-speaking Kiwis, but is open to everyone

IRC channels (all on the Rizon network):
#eNewZealand - the country channel
#nz.mofa - the Foreign Affairs channel
#nzarmy - the public military channel

Politics

There are three main parties in eNZ, and three smaller parties.

1) The largest, the Peace 'n' Prosperity Party, is the main party for the country's English speaking population.
2) The Ujedinjenje Ili Smrt party is the political branch of the Srpski Korpus militia.
3) The Love and Peace party is the "Universal Party".

The other three parties are Crocus Valley, Red Squad, and Ranguini, each with less than 20 members.

The distinction between the parties only matters when it comes to Congressional elections and Presidential elections. The rest of the month, politics here is quiet and drama-free. Even during elections, there may be competition, but there is little drama. We are a nation of people who got sick of politics in our former eCountries, and have tried to avoid that here.

Because the population of the country is so small, each congressman only gets one citizenship approval per month. Most of these passes are used up early in the month, as there is no standard process for approvals. For the most part, if you want to get into eNZ, you have to know someone in the country who can help you.

Military

The official eNZ Army is made up of two branches: the New Zealand Defense Force, and the New Zealand Special Forces.

In addition, there are two militias: the Srpski Korpus, and the Kiwi Military Guard (the PnPP militia).

eNZ is, as of right now, in no official alliance, but we are pro-ONE in terms of MPPs.

Signing off,
