It was quite the rush when my battle orders came down:

"Private, your platoon is to ship out to Occupied Oregon and take back the Beaver State."

I packed my duffel and caught the next Humvee leaving the base. I looked at the other soldiers in my platoon and saw some new faces and some familiar ones. We were all excited for this chance and weren't going to waste it.

Saddled up with my guns at the ready, we made quick time to the border. We managed to easily get across from the south and took the 101 all the way to Warrenton. PEACE had been distracted by their push into other US states and had left most of the way clear all the way to our target.

Our target: Camp Rilea Armed Forces Training Facility. I had heard stories about how PEACE soldiers were forcing Oregonians to participate in their "training exercises". Some spoke of how the citizens were stripped down to their civvies, while others spoke of being forced to eat cold borscht during the 5-minute break they were giving during their sometimes day long forced labor.

We drove about 5 clicks from the outer gate of the facility and humped it the rest of the way to the RP. Once there I almost wept at the sight of US citizens being subjected to far worse than the stories I had been told. Clearly the USDoD Morale Office had filtered the stories of the worst atrocities that we now saw right in front of us. Clearly the Morale Office knew it would make the blood run cold in most citizens and paralyze them with fear if they really knew what was going on at Warrenton.

We saw soldiers imitating Vlad the Impaler and putting beaten and bloodied citizens on makeshift pikes. I almost couldn't stand waiting for all our men to get in position before making our next move. I have to admit, I almost cried.

Then the green light came and we made our move. My platoon was to provide cover fire for Alpha 1 and 2. All three platoons came up to the checkpoint in a blind-spot that the Russian soldiers were unaware of, but that any private fresh into Boot would recognize easily. We snuck up on them and neutralized them quietly before absconding with one of the APC's they had commandeered. We all piled in and made our way deeper into the facility.

"DoD places the temporary HQ here," our platoon CO pointed to an orange X about 100m from the exact center of the base. "Alpha 1 will ring the doorbell, while Alpha 2 breaks down the rear. Our job is to watch for any enemies on the outside along these three posts right here." The platoon leader pointed to the three X's spread out along a 300m span.

"What's the estimated forces, sir?" I asked.

"More than enough to send a stark message to PEACE Command when we retake this facility, Private."

I was ready. My training had taught me one thing: superior forces doesn't always mean superior force. We had the advantage and we knew it. Just then I felt the APV slow to a halt and the servos in the back door started to click as the door began to open.

Our team was the first one out. We had our guns equipped with silencers. I spotted two guards about 50m from our position and quickly dispatched them without raising any attention. Me and the rest of my platoon took up a covered position around the HQ, taking down soldiers caught unawares at our insurgency.

Alpha 1 and 2 took their positions and the stage was set. Alpha 1 broke out the front windows of the makeshift HQ and threw flashbangs inside. Alpha 2 busted down the back door after using a shape charge on the frame. Both platoons performed admirably without a single loss of life on our side.

About an hour after we first set foot in Warrenton, we had secured the company CO and XO who were using the facility to train their soldiers and "train" our citizens about effective combat. We sent a message over their COM to the generals in charge of the PEACE attacks on the Western US and sai😛 "This is the Mobile Infantry. We're here in Oregon and we're here to stay!"
