For Liberty

Day 1,235, 17:42 Published in USA USA by Jamarcus

“Men make history and not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.”
- Harry S. Truman

These are trying times we live in. INCI still maintains a heavy influence over the outcome of our nation’s elections, the global struggle between Terra/EDEN and ONE rages on all around us, Croatia, the pillar of what every nation should strive to be, was momentarily wiped from existence, the US dollar is almost worthless, and Congress and the JCS are at war once again. The polar extremes of each side fueled the flames and dominated the debate, making it impossible to find common ground and compromise. Compromise was all but impossible from the beginning, because the root of the problem was power and control. This climax has been coming for a long time. Whenever the issue reared it’s ugly head, the leadership of that time, whether it be Congress, The Executive, or the JCS, sought to minimize the damage and instead of resolving the problem, and simply put a band-aid over it. The situation we are in was bound to happen eventually. Which leads us to where we are today.

In the face of adversity, it is essential that we put the right kind of leaders in charge. Now is not the time to sit back and allow the trolls and the extremists to run the show. Now is not the time to waste our energy on petty personal vendettas which will neither achieve nor accomplish anything besides more vendettas. It has gotten to the point that a select group of players dominate the discussion by fighting between themselves, trolling the new players who get ahead of themselves, and publicly eviscerating those who do not conform with their view of how the game should be played. This does nothing to strengthen our country. It only compounds our self-imposed divisions within our society. It is one thing to argue against one another, for this is good for any Democracy. However, it is an entirely different thing to work against one another. In one, differences in opinion helps make the country better. In the other, the country is harmed as the people fight against their common goals and interests.

During the North American Invasion, I was young and inexperienced. So I chose to take a back seat to leaders like Emerick, Inwegen, HR and others. That was a long time ago. Although a lot of the same names still run the show, a lot has changed. For one, I am older, wiser, and a heck of a lot more experienced. The times we live in are simply too exciting to be content with sitting on the bench. I want to lead. And it is with that in mind that I formally announce my candidacy for President of the Libertarian Party. I have the personality, mind-set, and understanding of how the game works, to maintain my composure no matter how hot it gets in the kitchen. Those of you that know me, know that I am no troll, I don’t engage in personal vendettas, and I always try to respect those I disagree with. I am not the most inspiring nor organized leader. I am not the greatest nor the worst. But I am the right man at the right time.
