Flying Unicorn Squadron: Part Deux

Day 847, 14:20 Published in USA USA by Talvari

Welcome to the second half of my article on the Flying Unicorn Squadron. This article will focus on several of the members of the Flying Unicorn Squadron. I sent them each questions and they were gracious enough to reply.

Pheno Sony

-How did you find out about the FUS?: I found out about the FUS about a month ago, actually. Archer Bullseye, the previous owner actually gave me a moving ticket and helped me out with some links to great articles and such. So basically, I found out of FUS because I am a noob. 🙂 I'm the second to newest member only beaten by SirNicholas.
-Why did you become a member of the FUS?: Well I joined because they helped me so much that anything I could contribute would have really made a difference. And because I'm broke, I figured I could contribute my time.
-Any other thoughts?: A few actually. 1.) Please contact the Flying Unicorn Squadron if you need any information or a moving ticket. We're glad to help. 2.) Just because we're helping newer players doesn't mean we don't like seeing the older ones there as well. So go to the USA national chat and hang out! And 3.) I'd like to meet one person who doesn't like unicorns. I mean really, aren't they amazing?

-How did you find out about the FUS?:I found out because I met a nice guy named Gildorg in the chat room as I was self-funding tickets for people to move. He then offered me a job and I took it as soon as I could.
-Why did you become a member of the FUS?: I became a member of the FUS because I wanted to help out the newer players. I am big with retention so I wanted to help keep them around.
-Any other thoughts?:I am running for congress in Kansas. So anyone who wants to help me out is welcome too.

SirNicholas

-How did you find out about the FUS?: Well I was sitting around chat, chatting, and a friend of mine, Pheno Sony, was like “Woo I’m in FuS” Of course I was like “Ehm, what’s FuS” and he explained it. I soon had a few conversations with Gildorg, and one thing lead to another and BLAM!!! I’m a member of FuS
-Why did you become a member of the FUS?: I enjoy spending part of my day helping users, philanthropy of sorts. It lets me sleep good at night.
-Any other thoughts?:I would highly recommend coming into the eUSA-Chatroom for all new users, and users of all levels, and ages. It’s always fun (When Gildorg is around) and helpful if there’s any questions. No newb goes unanswered. A wise man once told me “The only stupid questions is the one that goes unanswered”

-How did you find out about the FUS?: I found out about the Flying Unicorn Squadron like anyone else. When I started in eRepublik on Day 810 I took the time to play around with the game mechanics and try to figure a thing or two out here and there. But you can only scavenge so much on your own. In my path of searching around I came across the chat, instead of General Chat I figured I'd choose the first one, USA National Chat. Either going to be tons of politics, maybe some people, or learn a thing or two. In fact, I met a few FUS members here. Came across Gildorg one day, then Joseph Dinero, next thing I knew Nova, and before I knew it I was meeting the whole squadron. After they got me to stick around in the chat I ended up meeting the whole group.
-Why did you become a member of the FUS?: - Onto the next question, asking why I joined would be a big question indeed. It's a big commitment and requires time of your life in order to work alongside the FUS, so someone might blow it off. But heh, my life isn't too busy so I figure I can fit it into my schedule. Anyway, in real life I like helping people with all sorts of problems, whether it's real life issues that are threatening, or just helping people in other games. In every game I play I try to create a group and allow anyone to join and provide as much help as I can. Often the lowest of the food chain is just rejected or pushed away and called noobs. I like being able to provide the opportunity for them to rise up to something substantial and enjoy the game. Everyone once started at the bottom, so you may be strong now, but once you were a weakling as everyone else. You have to learn to help those people because they're just looking to have fun like anyone else. And afterall, give them a chance, they might become the ePresident and you'll realize you taught them everything they know. I enjoy providing help to the citizens of eUSA and improving their gaming experience. Everyone deserves a chance and I'd like to be the one to offer a hand to help you stand up when everyone walks past. By joining FUS I'm able to better provide that help.
-Any other thoughts?:I'd recommend that anyone and everyone, even the ePresident, even the people with the most knowledge in the game stop by the chat. You always learn something new every day. You might not of had a guide around when you started and might skim through an article today and learn something to help you. Whether it's a tiny thing or something to completely be life changing. Or you might just have a friendly conversation with players in the chat or share some of your own knowledge. It's always great to make new friends and have another person around just to even say hello to. And those of you completely clueless to the game, but somehow got to this article, go to the "My Places" tab, "Chatrooms" and then join us in USA National Chat and we'll hook you up. You'll leave with more than basic knowledge and be set for the entire game by the time we're done with you. And it doesn't even take that long. So feel free to drop by, I believe that's it on the interview then.

Joseph Dinero

-How did you find out about the FUS?: I found out about the FUS when I went into the eUS chat room. I noticed this guy Gildorg helping all the new people.
-Why did you become a member of the FUS?: I love new citizens. They are what will make us great. I feel that we need to nurture them and eventually help them to the point that they can help others succeed too. Without citizens, this game will not work!
-Any other thoughts?:The FUS is a great group of people that are vigilant in helping new people. We do get some resistance sometimes, that is why we have a variety of people. Different responses are garnered when you have different personalities and I think our mix is great. I also wanted to add that Gildorg is one of the hardest working "volunteer" employees I ever met on here. He deserves kudos.

I’d like to thank the members of the Flying Unicorn Squadron for their participation and cooperation. I could not have written this article without them. As always, I’d like to thank my readers for sticking with me, for without you, I would have no reason to write articles!
