Fly High

Day 3,831, 04:11 Published in Greece Greece by Asterios C

I’ve just been informed that aircraft battles is where is at these days. Apparently, all terrestrial terrain is overrun with primordial beasts of legendary power. The commotion of their clamorous clashes reverberates hellish and deafening for anyone not of their stand. But bravehearted fighters of younger blood still yearn for a battleground they can truly etch their mark on; where their might sustains and their sacrifice matters. Lo, you who feel dwarfed, sidestepped or insignificant, there’s a place you can make your arena and fight the good fight on equal footing. Do not despair. Look up!

Greece has recently developed a flair for the air. Back-to-back Airstrikes all around the New World and an upcoming class of promising aircraft fighters, flying through the ranks, proves there’s still some fighting spirit left in the downstricken giant. It’s a revival for survival. When the tankiest tanks won’t tank, it’ll be up to a few dedicated light squadron leaders to soar above adversity and clinch campaign-upsetting victories from above. For the blues of the sky and the whites of the clouds make up a magnificent color-pallette the Greeks know and revere.

The Icarus Project” is an initiative explicitly designed to support those willing and able to take off and join our aces. If you are interested in undergoing a vigorous regimen of exclusively aerial combat, being rewarded for ranking milestones along the way as well as provided with a weekly allotment of food, then check here for information on how to sign-up. Eligibility currently hinges on Greek citizenship, but I’m willing to take it upon myself to extend that to any interested party should the idea manage to garner enough attention and traction. I’m not running that affluent of an account here, but I have more than I can possibly put into good use myself. That is just about enough to sustain a couple of extra players through the program.

Under the circumstances, any contributions will be much appreciated. To make it a bit more interesting I’m proposing a little side-game: for every unique character-name of any medium (comic-books, novels, movies, tv-series, games, songs) fitting the aircraft battle theme posted in the comments, I will donate 5cc towards the project. It doesn’t have to be a human/humanoid character. It does have to be mentioned by name in their respective narrative world. If the connection to the aircraft battle theme seems vague or convoluted, include a short note for clarification. Including references that can help me verify entries are legitimate characters is heavily encouraged. Some background on the character would be nice, as well. I’m looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.

PS: I will also be donating any and all funds raised through endorsements of this article. Pegasus is my spirit-animal and I have a soft spot for all things flying! 😉
