Hai guys!!! o/

Just had my first go of the new military module there and I must say I'm pretty pleased with what I saw!

WARNING - Wall of Text Coming!

The admins have fixed a lot of problems that we've been having with the old v2 military module. From first looks I can see that weapons last a lot less time now than they did before. I had 4 q5 weapons and a maybe one q2 and a q3 starting off in battle and after fighting for around 240 health points I'm was only left with one q5 weapon.

If I had used the same amount of health points in the old v2 module, then I probably would have used 1 q5 weapon. So there immediately we can see that the admins have really changed how long these weapons will last.

So that led me to think, "Woohoo, A greater demand for all weapons" and yes there will now no doubt be a much higher demand for weapons which will be good for the eWorld economy.

But... the admins have also changed the productivity formulas for weapons companies. RM cost for a q5 weapon is now in the region of only 9iep(0.12gold) which is really very very low in comparison to what they used to cost. Around .9gold for a q5 helicopter, so that's a huge difference!

Soooo, yeah they've essentially been a little cheeky and wiped around 80% off the price of some weapons. If I had a large stock of q5 weapons, I'd be very annoyed right now! But, thankfully... I don't 😃 I wouldn't actually have enough gold to have a q5 weapons company + a large stock of such weapons, so yeah I was under threat! 😛

So I've come to the conclusion that these weapon's production costs have been greatly reduced and following that, their market price should also drop. Even though we're in a war right now and sure we need to have weapons to fight with, the markets still haven't adjusted and money spent on high q weapons right now, will be somewhat squandered as the weapons are completely overpriced right now. Not the message I want to give out to people, I myself just spent quite a few gold on weapons, You've still got to defend the country!

I figure q5 weapons will prolly cost something like 20iep/0.23gold each once everything settles down.

Something else to note, is that our old lower q weapons companies are not as useless as they use to be, although they are still quite useless and greatly oversupplied!

Even though now high quality weapons are going to be so much cheaper, it will make much more economic sense to switch to a lower q weapon when in certain situations in this war module. For instance say you hit someone for 70health points with a q5 weapon and so you only have to hit for another 30 to actually kill them. So then changing to a lower quality weapon for the second fight would make sense as you would then use less of your higher q weapon and save money.

This is still very very small fish, for the huge whale that once was the low q weapons market. I still do not understand why the admins have decided to effectively kill off the lower q weapons market. I think the way it worked in v1 was perfect where lower q weapons were for the masses and higher q were just for the most experienced and richest players. That worked well for many different reasons.

Another great thing about the new military module is the fact that you are not fighting someone else in Real-Time anymore. I know a lot of people liked the "personalisation" of the old v2 war module, so that you were actually fighting against someone who was also sitting at their computer at that same moment in time. Actually most people I've spoken to, still believe that when they kill someone in the new module, that the person "dies". This not the case, the new war module is pretty much just a glorified v1 version, with some nice graphics and they have added in the perception that you're fighting one person directly. Which you're not...

A really great thing about us going back to the old v1 war module is that now we can have training wars again. This is the most important thing for the economy and for citizen and army development, especially in small countries such as eIreland and I hope we can secure a training war asap! (listening gov)

So there are my first thoughts on the new v1/v2 military module and the effects that it will have on the eWorld, it's certainly going to be better for the game in general. Although I can understand why a lot of players will miss certain aspects of the old v2 military module.

I hope I've cleared up one or two things about the new module, post a comment below to say what you think.

Sorry, if this isn't so easy to read. I am ferociously hungover.
