First Presidential Address

Day 594, 14:21 Published in Israel Israel by BuzzyTheCat

Good evening Israel,

This is my first public address since becoming the officially elected president of Israel. It does in deed feel good to say that. Though there was no doubt in my mind that I would win, this is still my first elected presidency… yes, I just admitted to being giddy like a schoolboy.

First things first, I would like to thank each and every one of you who voted for me. You made a first class choice and I promise at no time will I steer you or the country the wrong way.

But we do have some business to talk about. First I wanted to take the time to let everyone know that the Q5 hospital for Jerusalem should be completed and placed within the next week or so. We are also still asking for donations if you can possibly spare it. We already have the down payment ready, but any extra cash or gold we can come up with will help lower our monthly payments. If you do happen to have something you can spare, please donate it to our official Infrastructure Fund found here… (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1591490)

There are also many ideas that I would like to implement this term. My interim 3-week presidency was mainly spent working out a business and worker friendly tax system. Now that we have said tax system in place, there are other things I would like to turn my attention to. Namely, a Citizen Expansion Program, expanding Israel’s MPP’s with more friendly countries, encouraging more businesses to open up in Israel, and finally, an Israeli constitution which includes set guidelines for the president, congress, voting procedures, and an IDF mission statement and operating restrictions.

Gzen and I will handle the MPP situation, which will hopefully soon result in a new alliance with Romania *crosses fingers*. I however would really like for some people to volunteer for the Citizen Expansion Program (CEP). It will include tons of PMs, visiting chat rooms, lots of brainstorming, etc. The aim of this program will be obviously to get people to emigrate to Israel, to start working here, consuming Israeli goods, to basically make Israel their new home.

The other major thing I want tackled this term is an official Israeli constitution. I know one was being written under CyberStorm’s watch, but he has since become inactive and I fear their work has been lost. Ultimately I would like to have a constitution written and ratified by congress within 2 to 3 weeks. By the end of this term, I would like it to already be in the admin's hands for official recognition.

And if all goes amazingly well, who knows, we might just throw some more stuff into this term. 🙂

I thank you for your time my friends, and once again, thank you all for voting for me. The 30 people who didn’t… your still ok in my book, it just means I haven’t done enough to win you over yet 🙂

Goodnight Israel,
BuzzyTheCat, President of Israel
