While the gifting is nothing more than paying for subscribers, I can't say it's such a bad thing. No one pays attention to papers that print those articles, and I guess it provides some less than fortunate players an easy way to build up wellness, or to buy food.

The gift giver is very rich, has been giving out the promised gifts. He is close to getting a medal I wish him well and hope he accomplishes his objective. I voted and subscribed but did not leave a comment as my health is in the high 90s every day, but it felt good to help him, lol. Voted/Subscribed to you too!

I admit that I wont gift anyone in my last article. I giggle to myself every time I read it.

Here's my advice for newspapers. Either you are an economic genius, or else your satirical genius. Economic geniuses get subscribers because they are influential politicians. Satire is fun to read, and gets subscribers. Do NOT make a two line article proclaiming the news. Do not sell things via newspaper. Do not write anything not related to Erepublik.

Gifts help those younger players who are unable to gain much health on their own, but to me, promising gifts for commenting and subscribing seems desperate, as if the person knows they can't actually earn those subscribers normally.

Its cheap but you still did it because its free stuff and people want free stuff lol I think the gift thing is good because it helps people however in terms of generosity, its not that good as you shouldn't expect anything in return for the items you give. Yet this game is not all about generosity and the gift thing is more of a mutual decision, one guy gets subscribers the other guy gets gifts.

I have ran a giveaway like this in the past but I didn't require subscribing it was the the USWP Christmas Giveaway, in which we gave a sum of money to each person who comments, and we also gave away a house, some gifts and weapons. It goes over pretty well and is not a scam at all.

I think it seems kind of unethical in a sense, but as a fledgling eAmerican, it's helped me out. I've gotten two Wellness points from it, and I'm at least getting to know new people. Encouraging people to read newspapers and to interact can't yield anything too terrible, no?

I think it's pretty cheap too, actually.

I'd think so, or else they'd lose a pretty big subscriber base.

If they actually give gifts I see nothing wrong with it. The new players need any help they can get in raising wellness. So good for them.
