The Tenshibo issue
We've all tolerated Tenshibo for a long time. We've all got used to his rude behaviour, but recently, when he started taking on some of our new arrivals, I started realising how much his brashness chase people away. He's chased new waves off immigrants away in the past, it's not a first thing.
Rico said that instead of replying or ignoring, we went with locking out. Firstly, we have replied, many, many times. Each time someone asks Tenshibo to tone it down, he gets worse. There's been request after request after request. Ignoring doesn't help, because you stop realising why threads are constantly derailed - it's not an option for someone who trolls as much as he does.
I've tolerated the guy for years, but there's a limit to my sense of humour. What put me over the edge was following some xenophobic remarks by Tenshibo, after he was repeatedly asked to stop, Tenshibo simply replied and said that he's untouchable and we must look at what happened to Wingfield and he continued with his remarks.
For anyone who hasn't followed this in detail, here's what happene
* Tenshibo was Tenshibo
* He was asked to stop as he was being insulting
* He repeated the insult and said to go see what happened to the last person who tried to take him on
* I called for his honorary citizenship to be removed, which isn't a ban - it just removes his ability to post in congress and other country specific tabs (for those who don't know, Tenshibo is in the eUS and has been for quite some time - he hasn't had eSA citizenship in-game for months)
* I called for a discussion on the issue
* Vote took place and the majority were in favour for removal of his title
* The president ratified the decision by majority of congress
* Tenshibo threw his toys and left the eSA forum altogether (that was by his own choice)
Support by the DB
So the DB supported Tenshibo through all of this. DB say that they are liberal, stand against oppression and unjust aggression and well, they have the word dignity in their name.
I have to laugh, because the entire summary of Tenshibo's actions, his insults, his remarks that it won't end well for anyone who takes him on, pretty much everything until a few hours were made fly completely in the face of what the DB stands for. But then you know that - there's nothing dignifying about what you do - you stand up in the name of dignity, but only for your own members - what about the dignity of others?
IA actions
It appears that I can't turn my back and everyone thinks that it's IA policy for me to turn my back. I can't remember what the last thing was that was done in the name of the IA? I think the last action the IA took as a group was back in March. It's not the way that the party works - the party doesn't put words in people's mouths, the party doesn't tell people how to act, there's no "voting squad", there's no attempt to control government. Trying to control anyone in the party or telling them what to do would fly in the face of what we stand for.
For once and for all, I am not the Independent Alternative. Stop associating every single of my actions with a specific political party. If I disappear tomorrow, the IA will carry on as strong as it is now. Mad Johnson is doing a sterling job as party president and before him Vanessa did an amazing job. And next month, I will not be party president and the month after that, I won't be party president either. I remain in the IA because from the day I joined, I've been allowed to do and say as I wish without being squeezed into a box and turned into a party drone (look at the comments below Ubermench's article - bunch of robots all repeating each other's words).
Resignations everywhere
Lastly, the matter of resignations have come up. Well, there's two ways of dealing with things, either you are a sore loser and you run away in the name of "oh, it's boring now", "looking for something new" or whatever, or you take it like a man and stick around and fight for what you believe in.
The last two months saw a president elected who was not an IA candidate. I lost one of the elections against him and so did our current president. Did we give up and run away? No! We stuck around and started working towards our next victory (despite being quite bored - see my last article). Not everything will always go your way and it doesn't mean you have to run away.
Looking at the resignations from congress by UP members and the complaints that IA is dominating congress, well, you are making it worse. But then both leaders you've had in the last few days didn't exactly set a very good example. UP went UP and UP and now all that work is undone in a few days. You've finally proved to be some good opposition for the IA and then you just go an undo all the hard work you've put in the last few months.

It has been said Ten has driven people away because they thought he was some kind of authority around here. Yet it should remain obvious to anyone reading any forum thread where Ten goes on that he's an average citizen.
The DB is not commending Ten's actions but we are bloody well fighting for his right to be a douchebag. When doing that we are also defending the right of other to reply to him in kind, ignore him or whatever. That is pretty dignified is you ask me.
What you, Tariq and the rest of the lynch mob has done is the opposite of dignity. You chose to mute that which you find unpleasant, you made that choice not just for you but for everyone.
Well said Mulder. I for one are not too happy that UP is giving up like this. I was enjoying the IA vs UP fights every month and it was healthy for eSA!

So "Mulder is not IA" but "NoRealityLife and Dreadnuts ARE Union of Patriots?" 2 people leaving is not UP giving up, it's 2 people leaving. You can't have it both ways. UP did have a bad reign under me, but "I" am not UP. UP is WAY bigger than me. They've managed without me in the leader chair for many months before and they'll thrive again.
Quit referring to UP as a few specific people, especially if you are going to keep getting offended at everyone else for doing the same about IA...
DTM, you're right, I've considered it recently actually.
NRL, I'm not party president, you were and the other person I was talking about was Veschy, he also resigned from congress, he's current party president. That's what I'm talking about. And then I forgot about SM333ZA who also resigned and also happened to be UP. That's how you draw conclusions - when 100% of the people who resigned in 24 hours congress are UP, not based on the actions of a single party member.
3 people who originally wanted Tenshibo gone were IA therefore 100% of that problem was IA.
To be fair, Veschy is PP by default because of me.

I understand why people refer to NRL, Veschy and Sm333za as UP as you guys were the front runners, always standing up for UP. I actually thought you would take top notch at the rate you were going which is why it is so disappointing to see you guys leave. A little rivalry is good, keeps both parties active.
IA does not instruct members on votes and certainly did not for Ten
I will say that Vanessa, Nickerball and LiquidIce all disagree with me on the Tenshibo matter, so there. Also need to rephrase your words, I didn't want Tenshibo gone, I simply wanted his forum permissions to be changed so that he could go and clown around elsewhere in the forum and stop derailing important discussions 🙂

Clowning is only allowed in the Red and blue areas, no clowning is allowed in the yellow and blue areas, unless the red and yellow areas is 'temporary clowning area' then it is allowed to clown anywhere, but only non-toxic paint has to be used or it is null and void.
I am sure it should be a basic right to clown (in the right areas of course) 😉

What Rico said. We'd definitely consider taking you in, Mulder, if you want to join the DB. Would be good fun watching you and Ten go at it on our forum. We once banned a guy for racial remarks because he was actually serious about it. Tenshibo doesn't mean any of it and is just trying to get a rise out of people, which is why we let him shoot his mouth. We don't tolerate actual racism and bigotry either, but we let a fool act like a fool if he wants to.

I can fully understand that he left, it was a mature decision based on the behaviour of a bunch of people in congress. Even though I can see that Tenshibo are childish sometimes in his communication their behaviour is far worse.
We often post in our own forums when people are openly racistic so that we all can report them to get rid of them from the game. Tenshibo is not racist, just a douche.
You write well mulder, cudos to you for that and having a open mind in these discussions. I can come down to saying that in some points you are not entierly wrong 😉

Stop with the blame game. UP's role is considerably smaller with its number of members while IA is the forerunner. Take the the criticism and show those who don't like you that IA deserves to be the #1 party.

You can find the reasons as to why we resign (me and SM333ZA) in the forum so I will not discuss it again here. But be sure that we will be ready for the next congress election as we will do our best to help Cody put UP on track!
Well, I would suggest that nobody vote for you, because you were obviously only interested in the medals and not the responsibilities that come with being in congress. Expect an article on that 🙂
LOL Only interested in the medals? I don't care medals my friend since I'm doing a whole lot of gold with everything else then congress medal.. hahaha you really gotta be kidding me right now! If I resigned from congress if you didn't look up on the forum it was to protest against IA ways of doing these days and even if I would not have resign what would it have changed? Nothing, a big pile of nothing.
