Experience > Youth
Starks Hayter
Today, experience has triumphed over youth. You are bigger fools than I currently think if you vote a citizen as young as me to the Presidential chair once more.
So where did it go wrong, Starks?
- Bad Cabinet: That put me on the back foot at once. It was far too large, and half of its members were inactive at some point during the term. Subsequent events stopped me from reforming the cabinet.
- War: The war took up all of my time when it started. Most of the work was behind the scenes, so people thought I wasn't working
- A One Day Absence: Somehow, one day of announced absence was turned into a week or more of absence by people in the media. They were the usual noise makers, so I was delayed in my actions in putting fears that I had deserted the country to rest.
- Forums: When I attempted to rectify my previous mistakes, the forums went down.
- Ambition: My promises were too ambitious, but my campaigns were lies in themselves. I advocated meritocracy when I was not the best candidate. I advocated to abolish party politics when I only ran for the ISRP.
One promise from my manifestos I intend to keep would be accountability. I met these challenges, and I did not rise to them. Therefore, I am not fit for office, and never was.
You're doing this to keep your seat, right Starks?
Nope, I implore you to vote yes, as I did. People are probably pretty confused, so I thought I'd answer some questions.
You messed up the ISRP, you know that don't you?
I apologise sincerely to the party.
So, what now, Starks?
I'm fading to the obscurity of three clicks a day, and will occasionally read the news. I'll be happy to return mail. I might return at some point, maybe not.
As for my successor, I hope you like working in a thankless job with children.
I have lost my faith in this country, and it's people. It is an angry, childish country. About three people hold this place up.
Regards, and Goodbye,
Starks Hayter

"About three people hold this place up."
and they are?
Good bye, glad to see you go.
Grainne, I think you know. two of us are here.
lol, Bryan
Well, at least you're doing the honourable thing.
"It is an angry, childish country."
It often seems that way, yes, but there are plenty of perfectly intelligent, reasonable people too; they're just a little less vocal.
Ridiculous.
Youth had nothing to do with it. Neither did your one-day absence, and neither did the forums going down.
No one asked for miracles, they only asked that you try.
All anyone wanted to know was that you were interested and engaged, and all that would have taken is what you've finally found the balls to do: Address the country.
So it would seem, Frommfilm, but really, most Irish citizens are assholes and children
lol, Dash, go for presidency, see how it goes 🙂
Wow, sorry Sir, but I'm really taking offence to that. I covered your e-ass day in day out, so whilst you are ranting, you should at least be e-adult and gracious enough to acknowledge it.
*waiting*
Do not call him Sir grainne.
Who is the three people
Language Starks
some of us get offended easily
@PP Don't think it was a specific three; just one of those angry statement things.
@Bryan If I'm not mistaken, it was meant in an ironic sense.
@Starks Fair enough, you're embittered. But I don't think I'm an asshole or a child; nor are you, for that matter, nor are the majority of the people I've come across here. There are exceptions, of course there are, but right or wrong, I think there are good, smart people here, and plenty of them.
STARKS.....I have now read your reasons......but as you can tell from my comments on other articles "I am bloody pissed", ....NOT because you may have FAILED (WE ALL FAIL AT THINGS IN LIFE REAL & VIRTUAL)....BUT TO GIVE UP and blame your YOUTH, the one asset that allows you to LEARN...."COP ON"....forget your Two & THREE Clicking....get back on the horse old boy, take the IMPEACHMENT on the CHIN and GAME ON.
IRSP and IUP are gradually going down the drain of irish politics. People are leaving the two parties fairly fast. . .
I am asking will this be it or is this just the start of the party evacuatuions?
It was NOT ironic. I am CoS of the ****ing army. I serve my pres, whomever he may be. It is not for me to choose political stuff over the defence of the nation.
You want him in? You vote him. You want him out? You impeach him.
If Mickey Mouse were elcted, he's still my commander in chief, GET IT??
@Starks, still waiting. You owe me this much, at least, Sir.
No harm in trying your best starks, it was not good enough and you were gracious enough to admit it. Some of the comments about you from the day you were elected were indeed childish.
Would some of Starks harsher critics care to stand for presidency to see if they can fare any better.
totally agree with ya starks. THIS COUNTRY SUCKS THESE DAYS!!! because of the spinless bobbins that like to think they are incharge. excuse me whilst i shake my fist and in a 1950's middle class american accent shout at the top of my voice.... WHY I OUGHTTA!!!
Thanks for all the fish.
I did not mean you were a child or asshole, Grainne, in fact, I had you in mind when I mentioned those three people
But I would say that citizens voted for me this month with poor judgement, to say the least
Thank you Sir. That's all I will ever have to say on the matter.
*salutes*
Wow. Your not going to believe this, but im actually speechless.
Bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yey starksy's in da muva f***in house!!!
"most Irish citizens are assholes and children"
too far man!
You didn't try so don't be blaming all but yourself as someone that stupidly stood up for you when all others doubted you I should have known better
Believe it our not you were the best man on the ballot for President pity you didn't believe it yourself and tell your doubters to go **** themselves. I will happiley take up the mantle of president if given the chance one day I'm aware its thankless job but I will at least give it a good shot.
A wasted oppurtunity and a wasted month for eIreland.
Oh god, now its the citizen's fault. We should all have special powers where we can see the future...
have to say starks you didn have the best term but i was conflicted pressing the button i have to say
you could have been great.......
sad to see u go my man
if were all losers than maybe you should just go live in russia or something and be a 3 click player there.
"I have lost my faith in this country, and it's people"
Welcome to the club
Many of us haven't. At all.
well goodbye Starks, I appreciate honesty. 🙂 Hope to see ya around from time to time.
As the Party President of the ISRP, I take issue with your comment Conor (Forde). We have now had 2 congressme defect as well as Starks, who I'm sure we can all agree has turned out to be a good thing. As for the congressmen, binksy had planned to go and leave anyway to try something new and Nogin no longer felt the party was for her. May I remind everyone that the IUP lost an entire wing of it's party, as well as several congressmen.
As for Starks, before you were president I thought you had potential to be brilliant. I am sorry to see you go, though not sorry to see you leave the presidency.
See Collins, that's what you get from gooning people around too much. They can't live up to the task in the end 🙂
Being President is a thankless job. So I understand why Starks would do this. Though because of this Ireland is in a real mess.
As an Ex-President, I know where Starks is coming from. El Presidente is a shit job, you get no 5 Gold bonus or nothing!
Ha! lol'd all the way down
Hmm...this is interesting; now, I don't meant to be rude, but I have to ask as to why Ireland has such political turmoil; you have corruption, bribery, election rigging, and a regular turnover of politicians resigning (which this is, essentially), and telling the entire population of Ireland they are a bunch of assholes. Now, I am not saying that this is true, since there are always nice people, but it does seem strange...
If eIreland is a nation of children than you were the King Brat. Taking your toys and going home.
Excuses, excuses and more excuses. Was worried from the point you said in the ISRP forums that if you didn't win the presidency you'd leave the country or go inactive. Further questioned your ability when you didn't understand an element of the housing proposal u co-wrote.
You call the citizens of eIreland kids and assholes..... hands Starks a friggin mirror. What are you Starks? You whine about the difficulties you had like you've been hard done by in all of this and don't mention a single attempt you made to overcome any of the difficulties.
I like to look in from time to time on what is going on back in good ol eEire. And for the past few days, I saw things that I could pretty much already predict were going to happen. When you join eRep, no matter where you are, you want to lead the people and get the headlines and glory. Everyone wants to feel like they are important (thats why people clamour for nothing jobs like ambassadorships and try to make up other titles for themselves). However, when you get into the leadership role that you always wanted, a lot of the time you just aren't ready.
Do you think it was fun trying to do what was best for eIreland as MoFA with people breathing down my neck and constantly calling me incompetent Starks? If you wish to lead you take on all the responsibilities of a leader...this means being able to take shots from all sides. Just because it gets tough and you get criticised doesn't mean that you give up or stop trying. Sure you were let down by your cabinet in a few positions but you stood by them and told people that you knew they would perform a reasonable job when you brought them on.
Lines like "eIreland sucks these days" are only a characterisation of the type of 'in-the-box' thinking some people have these days around eIreland. "We don't have the talent anymore" is another line that I see creeping into eIrish minds. You have the talent, you just don't like that talent unless it is part of your sphere of politics. In times like these (and this past administration should be proof enough) you need people who are truly qualified to lead...you shouldn't vote merely because you disagree with someone's politics.
I suppose it is fitting for me to end my comments this way...if you truly want eIreland to succeed, you must have someone lead who has proven to be a leader on a large scale. Someone who has a proven track record, if you will.
I'll be the first to call a halt to this. How about we drop the subject of impeachment and move on. Start afresh people, this subject no longer needs discussion.
Oooo, someone is disgruntled 😉 Go shake your rattle and suck your thumb and accept you weren't up to the task - stop mud slinging at people who were reliant on you to do YOUR job, it makes you look all that more pathetic.
