Experience Level Race Through history (Part One)
Wilhem Klink
As we all know, eRepublik is an ancient game going back to the dawn of humanity. Way back then, eRep was played on a variety of mediums. For example, recently a team of archeologists from a consortium of universities discovered an centuries-old record of an air epic
Caption reads: Oog no go epic new sun. Oog want air epic sun down. Why Oog no have way?
While it was eRep in spirit, its was, by necessity, a different game. Only Q1 weapons were available and it sometimes took weeks to paint out epic battles. There were only three countries, which made things a bit easier to track. Messaging between players was more difficult since cave walls had to be visited through dangerous forests and plains.
Endorse wall. Give handful berry. 25 time. Me get springcoin.
As one might expect, Experience Point Racing was a tough row to hoe since XP was gained very slowly and most players were unable to count.
The Romans played eRepublik (prior to the start of Augustus' rule) using dice. The famous statement by Julius Caesar "Ālea iacta est" ("The die is cast") was about starting a Dictatorship Civil War in eRome. Q2 & Q3 weapons were introduced and the eWorld expanded to ten countries.
Inscription: Qunitas can not make air epic vs the Barbarian Horde at hour III. Quintas is free at hour IX. Change for everyone so that Qunitas may be pleased.
The ranking of Legends began during this time which is why we still use Roman Numerals for it to this day. With the advent of the abacus, experience points were much more easily tracked. Experience Level racing became slightly more popular, but also more brutal as losing Racers were sometimes forced to participate in gladiatorial games.

eRepublik aslo introduced measures to limit multis as many client states joined eRep and other countries started to complain.

After Rome's influenced collapsed, eRepublik nearly disappeared and naturally regressed a bit. Weapons went back to just Q1 & Q2, and while the availability of nations exploded to over 300, they nearly all consisted of a single region making national bonuses impossible to manage. The exception was the first Alliance, The Mongol Khanate, which came to be the power in the game. Other alliances started to form to help counter the perceived threat. Games became harder to manage as attrition from plagues reduced the player count.

Despite the setbacks, the Experience Level Racing began to grow as people looked to the game for amusement. Entire industries grew up to support Racing that would lead to a sort of rebirth, a Renaissance, if you will, for the fancy French speakers.

On the back of this historical weight, two players join in the ancient art of the Experience Level Race
TemujinBC - paints naughty bits on cave walls
Wilhem Klink - uses Roman numerals indiscriminately
The winner is the first to add 100 experience levels to their profile. Said winner gets to lord it over the loser, confident in their superiority as evidenced in an stunningly pointless XV-year old browser-based game that is so behind that Plato is only a Level 27.
And loser has to donate

I must admit, this was a really well written article.
It had a fresh take, it was witty, it had humor and it was pretty damn entertaining.
I must admit, all this substance almost tricked...
... it ALMOST TRICKED me into overlooking the fact that THE GREATEST SCAM IN THE HISTORY OF EREPUBLIK CONTINUES. COUNT ONLY THE REAL LEVELS AND NOT THE FAKE ONES. IF YOU DID THAT TEMUJIN WOULD HAVE ALREADY WON.
MAKE BUTTS GREAT AGAIN.
Its how it works, an Iron Fist in a velvet glove.
I was not going to be interested in the article until i continued to read it.
I totally agree with Nuclear smee about the fact that it is a very impressive article.
It had me thinking what will happen further down as I read.
waiting to see the ages of q3 q4 q5
and i assume q5 and q6 will follow. You have us on hold waiting.
Why thank you.
I have no idea where this is going, though.
After the shenanigans with Rylde I thought I would have made up some ground. Alas, there is still work to be done.
