Eulogy: Canada [WGC]

Day 626, 05:55 Published in USA Canada by Alias Vision
Thank you for your votes and support.

"You were born on day 380 of the New World."

"You have worked for 245 days in a row."

For those 245 days, Canada has been my home. Over such a long period of time, a certain attachment grows for your country, even the most jaded person would understand. Around noon (local time), I was still convinced that Ontario could be saved to fight another day. It came very close and the fate of an entire nation hung in the balance for hours. Then the PEACE second wave of tanks moved in and they outmanned, outgunned and outspent us.

So today, for the first time in the New World's history, there is a group of over 2,000 active citizens without a home. With the implementation of citizenship, the first true political and war refugees are Canadian citizens. The first to be disenfranchised, for whom the notion of nationhood has been shattered in a million little pieces. Pieces that can be put back together surely but the path will be long and the power dynamics of the New World will have to change before it can happen in any significant way. Many citizens risk being lost along the way to attrition, battle fatigue, assimilation and famine. The lost of Canada's last region is one thing but the loss of those future citizens will be the ultimate cost and the New World will be poorer because of it.

Hungary never disappeared from the map.

Neither did Serbia.

Nor Portugal.

For one part because of PEACE they survived and thrived. For another, their opponents showed them mercy. This was their first chance to show what they would do when the roles were reversed. The outcome is clear, there is little honour and no mercy in PEACE. As a matter of fact, a great number of their most vocal proponents openly mock and denigrate the effort put forward in Canada. We would challenge them to show the same bravery Canada and her allies have shown in the face of the odds we were presented with but they would never have the courage. Those that laugh the hardest right now are the first who would fold and leave if this ever happened to them.

So let them laugh, they are beneath our dignity. Because through all this, through the justifications thrown at us by the French puppets, the UK facilitators, the immature Russian state and others, Canada with the help of her allies managed to keep her dignity.

"Humans feel deeply the suffering of their friends and allies."

Thank you Romanians, without your help in the final minutes of the Battle for Ontario there would never have been overtime and hope, as ephemeral as it was.

Thank you Americans, our sacrifices were your sacrifices and vice-versa. You are now accepting many of our refugees with open arms and I hope they will serve you well.

Thank you Spaniards, you are still one of the most feared militaries in the New World and because of this PEACE will target you next.

Thank you Poland, the only reason you did not do more damage is that you are still a young state. It will take time for you to grow into your potential and I hope you are given the chance.

Thank you Croatia, you must now be an example for Canadians on how to stay strong and keep trying. Even as you lose regions of your own, you still have an impact on the international stage.

Thank you Sweden, Norway, North Korea, Finland, Greece, Israel, Switzerland and all you small and medium powers. Every single nation that accepted alliances with Canada took great risks to their own personal safety. This is even truer of this group of nations. Your contribution has been noted and recognized and I hope one day we can return the favour.

Lastly thank you to those citizens in the UK for whom this PEACE occupation does not sit well. I hope the future of your country will one day rest in your hands. And to the Germans... you have suffered greatly in the last few months and a lot of you can be forgiven for wanting to turn your backs on Canada. Like we saw yesterday though, not many of you did. You could have gone the French way but you saw fit to see above and beyond a few misjudged political gambits to the greater cause.

All... thank you.

"You went into exile on day 624 of the New World."

"You have worked for 246 days in a row."

For this citizen, life goes on. Time to rebuild, time to work with what is left of the Canadian establishment and political structure.

The fight continues and hope remains. Hope that some in PEACE will be shamed by their actions. Hope that one day Canada can be a full member of the global community, not as in PEACE but as a full participant in the New World.

This is Alias Vision and the Freeholder Press in exile signing off...

"You can't be brave if you've only had wonderful things happen to you."
