eUK Politicians vs the eUK Military
Lemuel Gengulfus
It seems that once again, politics and the eUK’s military have not been working hand in hand. This is not the first time...
We saw a few months ago, a government hit by the Widdows theft saga – a high ranking military officer who felt that he had to hold the Government to ransom in order to compel them to listen to a dis-enfranchised majority within the armed forces.
Well lighting does strike twice – yet again the UK’s political elite have decided that the best course of action for this eNation lies in signing a peace treaty that means we have to cancel our MPP’s, leaving our allies who have given us so much recently, out in the cold. Now regardless of the merits of making peace with EDEN, the way in which this has been done is unacceptable.
It is not just the BEP and I that find this recent act a poor reflection on our country. Why else would large numbers of the eUK’s best soldiers be leaving the eUK to join the fight to liberate France if they did not agree that we owe PHOENIX a debt of gratitude, a debt of honour and a duty of friendship?
What this in our opinion shows is the long-standing and growing divide between the eUK political class and the rest of us! For a minority of eRepublik players, this game seems to be about using the eUK forums for hatching schemes, inventing legislation and creating coalitions to enable them to remain in power.
For the majority of the rest of us however, eRep is about conflict – about taking other nations head-on, levelling up and perhaps reaching that Field Marshall rank, doing as much damage as we can afford to. It’s about making friends & building an online community through organisations like the Navy, the SF and the now disbanded Royal Guard. Its NOT about pretending to be a virtual Tony Blair and creating dull forum legislation!!
MILITARY & POLITICS SHOULD GO HAND-IN-HAND
So here is our new message to the eUK. The British Empire Party is now committed to being the ONLY main party that stands up for what eRepublik truly is about – the conflict that is central to the game. We are the only top 5 party committed to being the voice of the military.
We have long stood for FUN, COMMUNITY & CONFLICT – as a result, some people may not taken us seriously. Well times are changing and so is the BEP – more and more military minded people are joining us every week to register their dissatisfaction.
If you feel that that this eNation’s “politicians” do not represent you, or if you would like to support our push to bridge the huge gap between ePolitics and the Military, join us – if you are abroad, then you can still come down to our private forum as we’d love to hear from you.

pertmaxxx!
Good article, LG I agree with the Military and Politics should go together. As an eNavy LT I agree with this. And as a BEP member, I will make sure that we do that!
Woop!
agreed, this treaty/ peace thing is stupid!! I ask you congress, get rid of the prime minister! get one in that will actually help out our allies!
OMG MAKING PARTY POLITICS INTO MILITARY! OMG! BAAAAAD!
Your right brah, but they'll never accept that.
I would join Your party but I'm eIndonesian 🙁 if i would get citizenship it would be 1st thing what i do 🙂
england cannot into allies..
Don't politicise the military...
Some of us don't. Im in agreeance with the masses. 70+% on the forums don't want peace.
It's is dependent on the state of affairs and is the best option open to us atm.
I have been in the navy and SF and congress, everyone's cool
rest assured knowing this article is complete bollocks. the eUK is still dedicated to helping its allies any serving Navy sailor could tell you we are still helping our allies!
Oh and maybe troops are being order into Poland, you idiot, did you not think of that?
I am a HARDWORKING sailor, the fact that you would claim to be my voice is extremely saddening to me, I don't recall recieving any kind of contact, requesting my opinion, rest Assured we are extremly commited to fighting for our allies.
I cant believe that non-navy personnel has anykind of nerve to comment on my opinion. keep politics out of the military you know not of our orders, or our plans. Ty Sam Haynes
p.s your dripping in bullshit >.< <---angry facee
A party is NEVER a military organization. The fact that you've decided to follow this route shows the BEP not to be a political party at all, but a military group with a party ingame, no more.
We can now say the BEP is corrupt.
Why should voters vote for congressmen or even a president, who's only interests reside in the war module and its surrounding aspects?
For those who do not want to get into politics, but want to be involved in the miliary, for heaven's sake JOIN THE NAVY:

Dont join a wannabe military organization with corrupted aims.
I HAVE SHPOKEN.
I'm a UK Para, you are not my voice.
oh yeah, RFA 4tw.
First off the “political elite” are elected and appointed people that represent the eUK government because the average people voted them into office. Second all of our MPPs will be in affect to fight in wars in Germany, Turkey, and any other place our PM decides that we should fight. You must be totally incompetent to think we would give up 16 MPPs and our allies for nothing in return.
Another thing, this just shows that our nations leaders weren’t very good at promoting this treaty. But further to that point it just proves that the BEP is just a bunch of political opportunists. That will take advantage of any situation for political gain no matter what the situation is. We also will continue to help Phoenix in areas such as Germany, Brazil, and iron wars that have been waged so this frees up phoenix to fight in economically/military important regions rather than fighting to save the eUK from disaster every other day.
And lastly I have a huge problem with “Military & politics should go hand-in-hand”. That kind of talk leads to military juntas and a “political elite” that isn’t elected.
In conclusion this article makes the BEP sound dangerous at least and at the very best you don’t get the very basic points of diplomacy and strategy.
P.S. You aren’t the voice of the military as a proud member of the navy, and as person who has talked to many other navy members you are NOT speaking for the majority of us when saying
“It seems that once again, politics and the eUK’s military have not been working hand in hand. This is not the first time.” Because this is simply not true.
I have been a member of BEP since I joined the game - this article made me leave. Good job.
I can't wait for BEP to leave the top 5. Will be funneh.
\o/
@ Nicholas Burns - Bye, you were such an integral BEP member its a shame I've never once seen you on our forum.
@ SteveSteinbeck - I love you too...
@ Jay & John Bartlett - since you guys have both been Congressmen on a number of occasions and both are involved in the so-called "House of Lords" on the forums - I'm not surprised you don't agree with this article.
You were and are never going to agree with anything the BEP does, but since you only represent a vocal minority of the eUK, I'm not losing any sleep over your disapproval!!
A cheap and false claim simply used to take advantage of people's sentiments. Shame on BEP. Our military and politics have worked well hand in hand for months.
Summary of comments: "😉amn, I wish our party had thought of this first! Guess we better just criticise it off-handedly."
Or
"Shi- It's the BEP. Better just criticise it."
The similarities between the comments here and some of the comments I've seen about the treaty are astounding. Rock doodz.
As I said before, I am glad I am in the BEP and well done LG!
Blandman, I was up when some of the people who made these comments were writing them and they were not made off the cuff. People thought about their comments. You throw at us the accusation that our comments are knee-jerk reactions, with no evidence. You do not, I see, attempt to answer any of them. You imply they are to be discarded, cos obviously we just made them cos its the BEP. "Off-handedly"? I could say this article is off-handed. They claim to speak for the military but since it seems most of us in the military don't like what they're saying, perhaps they didn't bother finding out beforehand, hm? To write an article saying you are speaking in the name of a group of people without finding out what they think about it first could very well be considered "off-handed".
I like your articles Blandman, they make a lot of sense. Therefore I'm rather surprised to see you using the argument "Hah your arguments are invalid cos your only saying them because of who we are!".
Please stop being stupid. If we hadn't signed that peace treaty we would be constantly blocked, and eventually they would have gotten Norway and the US to both border London, and then we'd be dead, and our MPPs wiped, leaving us with the negatives of the treaty but none of the positives (free up Phoenix, get back land). This article shows that the BEP is run by an ignorant opportunist, and could lead to it dropping down to 6th place, as all sensible members leave for other parties.
>I can't wait for BEP to leave the top 5. Will be funneh.
The FDP is working on it Steve 😃
But yea, what is this anyway, pretty much what others have said,
failmaxxxx
/facepalm
Fuck sake BEP get a grip. You are wrong and I am suprised that you continue to walk this path after you were slandered in your last article as well.
You are not the voice of the military, I am the Chief of the Defense Staff and you do not represent me. The comments here clearly show that you do not represent the rest of the military as well.
It is true there was some uproar when the peace treaty was signed, once it was explained to the masses, people began to understand why we had signed it, stop trying to capatlise on week old news.
I really hope the BEP drop out of the top 5 soon and stop pestering people with their crap "policies" and claiming to support fun.
