I said in the forums that Russia is being used, but then Kitchen.Sink and Undergeneral got on my case, never ansering me if they were or not. I hope Russia comes to their senses, because I'm sure the United States would gladly accept a new ally.

I would certainly say America and Russia could definitely become allies. The battle for your high diamond region wasnt just because we wanted it, it was mostly to distract PEACE's forces from a battle between Romania and Indo-Hun invasion. Plus you were apart of PEACE.

I agree with this article. Ultimately, PEACE is the enemy. Will you let them cut you up like a pie and have them take what is yours? You will let Hungary and Indonesia ransack you and then throw you out like yesterday's news? They're going to screw you over, BIG TIME. Open your eyes and stop them!

After the USA tried to invade Russia (Far Easter Russia) it is difficult to believe that you would help them.

I agree, Russia has little to gain in terms of the actual game. But they have plenty to gain in terms of using an eRep virtual war on the eUnited States as a proxy for demonstrating their RL feelings towards the US government. There's little doubt in my mind that a RL grudge is the principle motivation for their attack (well, that, and the fact that the eUS attacked them first--unsuccessfully--2 months ago).

@caravanacid - It's been said for months, it just so happens that it's being brought up again during a time of war. /shrug

F1end - The previous attack on Russia wasn't a matter of conquest, Russia was being ruled by a peace puppet and locking up romania at every possible oppurtunity. indo and hungary attacked wsr and podolia, we took the opportunity to try and divert attention away from these regions and enter ourselves in the asia campaign. It was a conflict between indo/hungary and romania/usa. Unfortunately, Russia was the battleground. Doesn't justify it, but if you want to hold us accountable, then you need to hold indo and hungary accountable too. Besides, all you need to do is look at your own countries map and ask who is threatening you more and who owns your most valuable regions?

If you ever asked for it back, or refused to continue this fight in America, Hungary and Indo would simply PTO you and use your country as their own puppet.

But what will they gain from attacking eUS. Shure you will gain a few new regions but in the long run you will lose it all, leaving your country weak, all of that because you wanted revenge on the eUS!

Nice try. So desperate, huh? 🙂

Let me explain it to you point by point:
1. Indonesia is the most powerful eNation right now, most active, most organized. It's a great advantage for us to have them as our allies when we are actually weaker. It's better to give one region for now, than to have just one region left.

2. We know we can trust Indonesia and Hungary. They have already helped a lot to us in the past.

3. The regions will become Russian, what is more important to us is to have large population, experienced population.

4. War in North America is very much our war, we need it, at the very least you could see that there's plenty of Iron and Oil in the regions we have conquered.

Russia is Hungary and Indo's little puppet.

Personally, I hope this isn't true (even though it can only benefit eAmerica if it is). It's never fun to have putative allies use you as they would a puppet while they laugh at you behind your backs.

I wasn't here when eRussia was treated so harshly by eRomania. If I had been, I would have spoken out against it, the same way I did when eGermany was cut apart by eSweden and ePoland. The way I see it is, you either act with honor and decency all the time, to both friends and enemies, or you act without honor and invite them to do the same with you.

Until now, eAmerica has tended to choose the path of expediency over honor. And while I will fight to defend my country in this dark hour, both with words and actions, that doesn't mean I'm willing to give those who run it a free pass. I believe that the same is true here.

I am not going to try to tell eRussians what they should think or believe or do. I've made that mistake many times before, and it never works out. What I am going to say is that, outside of the war we find ourselves fighting, I wish eRussia only the best. The same is true of all our opponents, and of our allies for that matter.

Of course, for the purposes of the war, I hope my country defeats yours, and I know the same is true for you. All I ask is that you leave the real world to the real world; if you wish to fight us, do so because of things that happen in Erepublik. And remember that, win or lose, you will still have to deal with the eUSA (which is, after all, the people who live here) - learn from the mistakes of those who chose to grind their foes into the dust even after they were defeated and were themselves eventually toppled.

Congratulation, your article makes sense. And it is good that you came to visit us and have a talk. Keep knocking and the door will be open for you.
It is fun to fight against you but the more we fight the less we understand why. Our need is our land occupied by Indo and Hungary. They will not give it back willingly. And who will help us to take it back? It's weird but the only power is our enemy eUSA. I don't know how it will be done, but I believe one day we will fight side by side. We just must not go too far these days.
