Have the admins gone too far?
From my experience, the admins have constantly found ways of pushing the limit further and further. Their latest act is the introduction of another training ground the Q3 training grounds.
It will be argued that it gives newbs the chance to quickly upgrade their skill in order to play with the elites. It gives them the illusion that they too can achieve a mercenary medal. But the truth is that’s never going to happen without the help of buying gold.
Someone recently commented that the admins have single handedly made sure that you can’t earn money with the game anymore. For me that was the reason for playing the game over two years ago. However the admins saw it fit to destroy the erep economy, with their most recent exploits being destroying the currency markets and making it so that raws become cheaper. This means raw company owners have a longer period before they can actually make money off their raw companies.
Also with the introduction of Q6 companies the myth continues and it will go on and on and on. Its only a matter of time that there are Q5 companies, or that they change the rules on when super soldier medals are received. This is because the admins have no limits.
As of right now the game has entered the WTF mode: Work, Train, Fight. The element of fun and diversity that made this game into what it was is gone. Gone are the days of V1 and now we are in V3 where money is key and the game becomes more like a casino and your prize is 35 strength for 1.98 gold a spin or 0.76 Euro Cents a day (1 USD).
When they need money, they will simply add a special action.

- Health bar and buildings cheaper
- Q6 Companies

What the admins have removed in the process:
- Fun
- The erep economy
- Money from your wallets
- Any sense of dignity
The saddest thing is that we the players have no say in the game anymore. If players were given the chance to help improve the game, they would probably earn more money in the process while at the same time getting people to play the game longer and more active than now. This path of greed will in the end destroy the game. That much is for sure.
So ladies and gentleman, its official the admins have the gold bug! They want your gold!

Two extra's as far as I can tell in the short period I'm playing;
By removing the economy and lowering the raw prices it may become reality that new players will quit without even buying gold. Simply because the economy of a new player can't be made working and there will be no possibility of earning money. Not to speak of the almost impossibility to pay prices for the gold buildings such as companies because of the hard rising gold prices.

Second; The fact that smaller players won't receive high quality weps/supplies in battles will keep them far away from the action, where the more experienced players, who are more then capable of paying for their own high Q weps, will receive the weps and make the gap with smaller players even bigger, thus making the game more and more a game for the veterans and in the long run keep new blood away and kill the game.

I remember when a bunch of presidents once protested admins ruining the a game. They got banned for " hurting eRepublik" .
The admins only care about money , they do not care about what you think , they do not listen to you . I have seen them ban people just to protect their interests. I urge you people to stop buying gold .
Auggy this is your best article ever, congrats! And yes it's pretty sad. I too think they'll go to 6, and also upgrade weapons before that, and probadly later to 7, and on...

Ofcourse the house always wins. They have to get payed and pay for the servers. But indeed some strange choices have been made that are not smart to keep users active and happy.
There are many things that you can do to earn money. The most basic is micro transactions. Look at games like LoL, where even if you pay for content you do not have an unfair advantage over other players. Im pretty sure that if they focused on things players wanted they would earn more oney and at the same time get the reputation for working with players and not against them. Once the players are against you you destroy your own game. Its only a matter of time.

I started playing 1,5 week ago so I don't see these evelopments - yet - but I do know that as a new player, a working economy seems far, far away thanks to the incredibly high gold-amounts you have to pay and the incredibly low NLG-amounts you can earn by trading raws. For now I do intent to keep playing, but I can imagine that most new players will quit as soon as they get stuck in the clicking-part of the game, which really isn't that interesting.
