eRep in eAmerica: A short history.

Day 1,879, 21:42 Published in USA USA by Candor

Help me write a short history of our nation. Only something game-changing will be included, something significant to our nature as a nation.

Nature as a nation.

I have this so far:

"Beta, V1, SEES, V2, iNCi, Mil split, Unity/RGR"

What else is worthy of inclusion? Give me a short argument as to why it has had significance to the nature of the nation, please.

I'll take names as well. People who in some why had serious and significant (lasting) impact on the nature of our nation. Again, include a short argument to justify the inclusion please.

WWIII/Development of Brolliance?

Candor Day 1,879, 21:51

But for all our wars and alliances, have they changed us? What is different because of those wars, or any war? Or alliance? Make a case for what a war changed, or an alliance...

John Largo

As far as adding names that are not already mentioned:

MM2 funded the start of the military commune system that almost all of us use today. Though I'm sure someone older than me can name others more responsible for the "idea" of a nation of communes.

KT/PiZ for the eUSforums old and new. Lucky/Jankems for the mil forums old and new.

OneEye created the stuff>gold maxim that influenced our tax policy for years. I don't think it applies nowadays after admin changes, but it was very important for years. I would point to Kemal for most of our current tax policy, but I cannot pinpoint anything specific other than people wait on his opinion before changing anything.

Haliman (I think) was the POTUS that first let in iNCi. I might be wrong there.

Bradley Reala lead the Mil split. You already have Pfeiffer named for the other side of the coin.

Josh Frost created the first lasting independent MU, Seal Team Six. Though they are now a government group, countless other MUs have followed in their tradition of independence.

Rod Damon for work in the CIA and as the leader of our nation's first ATO efforts (again old guys can correct me if I am wrong here). Rod Damon was Right. 🙂 Inwegen revived the CIA after a couple of other Rod replacements as well as did a lot of shadow government stuff, but nothing I can put his name on.

Cromstar and MM2 lead the latest constitutional convention when we switched forums (I was there but I cannot remember who else was, fiona maybe?) and the group authored our current constitution. Whoever wrote the first one should also be mentioned.

Scrabman made a bunch of the structure we use in government today. Talk to an old guy for more details.

Whoever invented the CBO should be mentioned. Was it Publius? He has been CBO for as long as I remember. I think this was created to keep the POTUS from stealing the treasury after Franco did it.

i think u have lot of material to write this. its great idea indeed. dont know where to start. maybe its best u to write this in few articles/parts.

U should mention Harlot in any case...he's one of the best ppl eUSA ever had.

Hanibal LA
Hanibal LA Day 1,880, 12:52

ofc..u should mention our great traitors too. Pfeiffer and we betrayed Canada and other allies. How we brought Country from prosperity and unity to today's civil war etc...

Publius Day 1,880, 12:56

Post this on forums. You will get better input there.

interesting, get other players to write your article for you...

how about the effort to drive players away to gain a smaller easier to control the populace (it worked)...I remember the call for the Admins to take away regions so those in power didn't have to find so many blockers to keep players like me out of congress...and then there was the military starting communes which destroyed the economy which helped drive players away...but of course you were part of the constant PTOing the SEES where part of, but I doubt you want to talk about the in-game reign of terror you help bring about for parties that didn't want to tow the elitest line....

Tiamati Day 1,880, 13:23

I agree with John Largo's addendums; would also mention the great nerfs along the way which mostly started with v2 foods then v2 weapon nerf.

Destruction of economic skill, plato's crusade against orgs which remains unfinished, and destruction of the economy through the land concept. Another massive nerf was the removal company's being tethered to specific regions.

@Publius; IMHO, this effort should remain in-game to keep it open to comment without possible centure by fellow eCitizens.

redbirdusa Day 1,880, 13:34

Lets not forget Eugene Harlot. He was a great Commandant of the Marines when the US Military and the US were together (before the split) and CJCS. The good old days.

redbirdusa Day 1,880, 13:35

Jankems as well he was CJCS

Sejanus Saturninus Lex

I want to second what Publius said about posting this on the forums. I would also contact players from other countries. What Hannibal LA et al have to say would be pretty interesting to read. WWIII stands out from other wars as it was one of the few events that created a baby boom in the eUSA for starters. It was also the only event that ever unified our often horrific political system. WWIII is a great bench mark to really look at what came before and after inre: domestic military, political and newfriend care. The consequences of the war and the domestic military and political decisions that lead up to it are far more important than sees, RGR, and the mil split.

Publius Day 1,880, 16:52

Yeah but Tiamati article comments suck for discussing threads. It is just not their purpose, as compared to a forum. Like Largo made some mistakes in his narrative but it is too difficult to address them in this format. Some will only comment here so having both is obviously better.

pop George Day 1,880, 21:09

forums are for control is like when trolls are rated, actual talent is over looked for popularity, making any rating ridiculous cause actual merit isn't considered...

take my forum posts, when I mentioned I wanted to run for CP, my thread did very well in views and posts, but I can't even get on a ballot...of course Candor won't remember when I asked him for help with members for my party (so I could make the ballot) all I got was a copy and paste article...
