In eRepublik you can pursue your personal economical, political or military ambitions and by doing so you can change the course of history in the New World. There are a number of possibilities in the game you can experience. Some of these include: fighting battles, voting, joining a political party, owning your own company, and many more.

Also throughout the game there are missions for you to complete. When you complete each of these missions you will be rewarded with various things such as experience points, strength points, currency, and weapons.

Aren't you adorable?

What follows is a step by step tutorial through your first experiences here in eRepublik.

The first steps:

Step 1: Train
There is a bar running across the top of the screen. Each day you need to click on the My Land tab and go to your Training grounds. You gain 2 XP per training and increase your Strength by 5.5. However, you also lose 10 Health each time you train. Every time you increase your Strength by 250 points you will be rewarded with a Super Soldier medal and 5 Gold. Strength also influences your performance on the battle field.

Step 2: Find a job/Work
In the Market tab click on Job Market and find a company which hires employees. Every day you work earns you money. In subsequent days when you return to the My Land tab, your employer will be the first building. Just like with training, you lose 10 Health each time you work. You will be rewarded with a Hard Worker medal and 5 Gold each time you work 30 days.

Step3: Buy food.
Choose Marketplace under the Market tab and buy some food. Many items come in multiple qualities and their effectiveness is based on their quality. For example, Q1 food recovers 2 Health, while Q5 food recovers 10 Health. Always make sure that you have food in your inventory to recover Health lost in training, working, and fighting.

Step 4: Upload your first avatar.
Find a .jpg picture and upload it on your profile page, you will receive experience points for this.

Step 5: Train and Fight
You should always train before you fight so that you are at your strongest possible for that day.

Fighting
On the "Home" page, you will probably see a war going on. You can join the fighting by clicking on it. It will cost 10 Health (per attack).

It can sometimes take many attacks to "kill" an enemy and you will have to restore your health when you reach 0 by clicking the "Eat Food" button under your health bar on the left side of the screen. However, you are only allowed to restore a certain amount of health at any given time, so keep an eye on this while fighting. You may need to come back later when you are able to recover more health.

Step 6: Wash, Rinse, Repeat

You should work, train, and fight everyday if possible.

This has been an introduction to the basics of eRepublik, with these you can begin to grow strong and wealthy. However, to more fully enjoy this game I urge you to get on the forum, join a military unit, become active in a political party, and log onto IRC (channel is #eNewZealand).....we will write more about these in future articles.

Until next time, subscribe to this paper for more info and best of luck in your adventures.

Regards,

D Dodge
