You needed tokens to pick your resources, Norway had 0 tokens as we won 0 fights during the resource wars. I brought up the idea of buying tokens several times to Congress, every time it was not something Congress supported. I picked our resources accordingly to try and give us 2 food, 2 weapons and 1 house but without tokens all the good picks were gone.

No, all the resources were re-picked a couple days before deadline. We had Iron, Cattle and Wood in there as well. I worked with a friend to re-pick everything. He made a map of every region and what they were picking to make the best picks possible. For example, Denmark, Sweden, UK and Russia all went for wood, so I picked wood as well so we wouldn't get any rare resources in the region.

I sure hope this won't be the final setting. It also would've been more democratically to have the whole community involved in something important as this, not just Congress and gov.

Did you see other countries having polls and community events to decide which resources they should pick? Nope.

It was done democratically. Im not sure if you realize this but if we went to the public for everything nothing would get done, that is why people vote in elections for Congress. When they do this those people that win those elections are elected to represent their voices in within the Government. Hence democracy.

I find it odd you try to make trouble at every turn but I guess some things will never change.
