If I ever needed proof of my original theory regarding eRepublik I only have to look at Serbia. Eastern Europe is a place of old cultures, history, beauty, religion, and wonderful people. Who all hate each other for unknown reasons.

One day a young gypsy looked out the door of his hovel and had an idea. If I ripped off Myspace and created a poorly coded game where people could spend real money on these assorted hatreds, I could buy many goats and a strong wife to pull my plow.

And 13 years later, here we are. I do have to give the creators respect for managing to keep this going for so long. I would have lost money as I was betting on a few years tops.

Also relevant, Emerick is Kosovo.

Voted and subscribed for the 2nd paragraph, which is the clearest, most concise eRepublik origin story I've ever seen.

Also, I miss Emerick. I think. I'm not totally sure. I drank a lot in those days.
