Electoral Tourism

Important election for eBulgaria is to be held in three days, which will determine eBulgaria's future.
The most important thing in every election is participation and thanks to the National Statistic Institute (NSI) we are familiar with the population and party members numbers. Sadly poor laws make it possible for a political phenomenon to occur: electoral tourism
Currently there are 250 citizens of eBulgaria, of whom about 100 are party members. BPP, the party of the immigrants is the biggest one with roughly 40 members, followed by the Bulgarian Democratic Party (BDP) and the Socialists Party with about 30 members each. The numbers of non-party members is huge and this makes every election unpredictable. What is more, the registrations of new immigrants or multis (citizens with several accounts) right ahead of the elections, increase the doubts for possible electoral frauds.
BDP is a new party open to cooperation with everone. It still impossilble to predict whether BPP and BSP will sit around the table and search for a political compromise.
Living in such a political uncertainty, one thing is known for sure: the Bulgarian citizens want to have a Bulgarian president.

\"party of the immigrants\" ???
Well we do have a few real life bulgarians in our party true, but they don\'t involve themselves with the parties goals and discussions.
Our most literal bulgaria born member (bimba) left our party a short time ago only to join the BDP.
So in a sence it is right to say the BPP is a party of immigrants.
Too bad though, when we came here we hoped to win at least some progessive bulgarians over to our anti-capitalistic cause.
But we discovered it was not money that drives many of the bulgarian people.. it is culture.
And there\'s little we have to offer to the bulgarian culture except for our vision of unity and internationalism.
I understand the bulgarians prefer to stick to their own, a pity.. but otherwise a good reason for us to go out and discover other peoples.
Well, there is some point that the cultural differences are a problem. But that\'s perfectly natural thing and typical for every country and every nation.
This is a game with real people, real feelings and it is normal that some of those values and feelings are projected in the game as well. It is also perfectly natural that the Bulgarians expect the president of eBulgaria to be a Bulgarian and not canadian, chinese, japanese or whatever nation you name. It\'s absolutely understandable.
However, it\'s not only cultural differences. We are cordial and open people, always ready to greet foreigners and make business and everyone who has been to Bulgaria knows. The same is valid for all online games I know, we have similar behavior of being open and cordial.
But when there are serious allegations, lack of communication, presidency held by an absolutely controversial person, controversial decisons, allegations of corruption and personal financial interests and all those things are related to a party dominated by foreigners...then,yeah, it is once again perfectly understandable that the Bugarians do get catchy.
I consider also the fact that there are no Bulgarians being at the top of BPP\'s party, a huge mistake of your party. This has further polarized the opinion...
Having seen this deadlock in the development of Bulgaria, the antagonism between BSP and BPP , we the BDP decided that totally new approach is required. We need to set some basic princples (mentioned in the newsletter as our demands), follow them and start developing Bulgaria
That\'s our position. It is now in BPPs and BSPs hand to decide whether they are ready for this. If both are OK, that\'s great. If one party agrees, we have to work with it, because those principles plus our program-manifest are what we believe in.
there are no bulgarians at the top because no bulgarian was interested in actively participating in the party..
honestly there were more active foreigners than bulgarians before you guys arrived.
and from the bulgarians that were active most of them belonged to the kardam gang.
I think there were about 10 really active bulgarians before we arrived in bulgaria, and not all of them were actively duscussing (in articles for example) and or busy with politics.
Actually before we came here there wasn\'t even a forum.
We created a forum, one which the kardam gang (except for Penko) refused to join.
like a week or some weeks after we created a forum kardam created a forum for real life bulgarians only.
there it was where the real divide between foreigner and bulgarian started.
There still were (are) some neutral bulgarians, but they didn\'t participate on the forum or political scene either.
well, if a Bulgarian is not interested in \"political career\" he can always be stimulated 🙂
I have spoken with Sartain, I have spoken wih Kardam. And I have heard both points of view. Both are correct and wrong at the same time. It has reached the point of antagonism where no constructive dialogue is about to happen.
That\'s why we propose one simple thing. There is a \"new kid in the block\" (BDP). It has its principles and values, it follows them and it is open to both other parties. If they share them and they are ready to start doing something for eBulgaria....then everything is great.
Well this election is going to be tough, as far as I\'m concerned there isn\'t a viable presidential candidate that anyone can universally endorse. Both the BPP and BSP candidates aren\'t acceptable to the other party, and while the BDP might be the best party in terms of unity there isn\'t a candidate with enough experience to run yet.
That\'s why, realizing this we had long late night talks with Kardam. He knows the postion of BDP and he knows as well that if our demands (to which he agreed) are not met in terms of relationships, positions ,contacts with BPP, then he loses the support of BDP as fast as he gets it.
It is very simple. Both sides make difficult for them compromises and follow them...then both will see that the other side is not \"that bad\"...BDP is the mediator in this case. Otherwise we don\'t see how we will get the things running in Bulgaria. So if both parties are interested in doing the right things in Bulgaria, you\'d better start talking between yourselves asap.
well that\'s a problem, they don\'t listen to our advice.
for example I\'ve proposed them to create SO\'s for their companies.
Only Penko listened, (he in turn was able to convince Prodi and Zubenel to create an SO for their company Jedi Constructions)
but the other BSP company owners didn\'t take the advice because they don\'t want any advice from foreigners.
The only advice kardam ever gave me was... (in bulgarian, penko translated it for me) Come work for me..
And I was like.. what good would there be in going to work for kardam.. he sells his products for outrageous prices, and they are inefficient.. for example they keep workers in their companies that haven\'t worked for a week or longer.. which seriously impacts the production of the active workers..
We on the other hand want to get everyone set up with good houses so we can in some time almost totally abandon the housing industry and focus efforts on the production of moving tickets and weapons.
For that collective cooperation is needed..
I even offered kardam co-ownership of the uni, and he refused.
on one hand he doesn\'t want competition, and secondly he doesn\'t want to share \'power\'
he just wants everybody to \'work\' for his poorly managed companies..
well sorry but I don\'t buy it.. he is incompetent.. and thus I will do anything I can to prevent him from becoming president again.
That\'s the problem....both parties look in the past.
Who has done what, who has said what.
All I have to say is that when us \"Immigrants\" arrived here we were told to leave. Until you Krembo and the \"New\" Bulgarians arrived the \"Old\" Bulgarians didn\'t want us here no matter what our good intentions were. Our intentions were to help Bulgaria become a super power. So far we have done a good job in my eyes and I can\'t see how many can disagree.
Just my add. All I want is what is best for eBulgaria, that is what the BPP wants. That is why we have invested thousands of BGN into your economy and basically sustaining the country for the last couple of months. Before we came there was not enough food, gifts, houses, or anything.
The problem really isn\'t so noteworthy, there\'s just two camps.
for our collective ideal it would be really beneficial for us all to work together,
but we\'ll make do without kardam and the BSP as well.
We will never vow for free market, we are not capitalists. we want to get all people set up with good houses and high wellness, and don\'t mean to get certain ambitious figures or groups (like the kardam group) swimming in wealth.
In a free market many people can individually lead companies, but it is inefficient and there will be great differences in wellfare. (I\'m talking about this game, though this is also the case in real life)
get all people working in a select number of companies, see to it everyone can buy at least a decent surplus of food and arrange affordable houses for everyone.
It is only the greed of mankind that is in question here. I could\'ve gotten myself a Q4 house a long time ago.. yet I invested time and effort in this project.
We\'ve produced multiple Q3 houses so far, yet I still have my Q1 house that I bought in the first week that I played this game (in an economy where people asked decent prices for products)
I can assure you: there is a nice amount of greedy people not only in real life but also in this game. Our president shows these symptons. symptons I noticed for some time.. but I thought it could change.. and it did.. but not enough.
In kardam I sence a form of greed as well.. (and I don\'t see that changing anytime soon)
If for example Penko would become the BSP president kandidate I would have no problem with them winning elections.
but atm the inexperience of the BDP would be preferable to the incompetence and greed of kardam.
if any bulgarian around is fit for the job of presidency, then that person is you krembo. new to erepublik maybe, but at least not new to a thing called wisdom.
New 20 - Krembo President! 🙂
Only the Party President could be nominated as Country President, right?
yes....
I think this could be the best time for BPP ever. For the first time in eBulgaria, you have the chance gain the trust of all citizen.
If you lose the elections(which I think you will) and you opt to flee, claiming you never got a chance here, you\'ll only confirm suspicion that you were working for your own benefit all along. If, however, you choose to stay here, continue with your program and be the voice of a merciless opposition, pointing out every shortcoming of the new (supposedly incompetent) government, then you have the chance to say😕"Yes! We are eBulgarians and we\'re gonna fight till the end!\". And this will be your biggest victory of yet.
Finally, I have to say how glad I am we\'re having this discussion in the public space. This is what this country needed the most through it\'s painful e-history - some transparency!
P.S. Do you care to elaborate on the \"the change in Wilkmot wasn\'t enough\" bit?
I would explain it, but ill let inanis explain that imaginapolis.
Last night we had some talk with Inanis and I told him what are BPPs mistakes. It is only up to you do decide whether you want to change and to survive as party or not.
As I have said it several times, the Bulgarians are catchy when it comes to who has the authority, languge, financial abuses, lack of transparency, etc. Mistake which have been made by BPPs pary members.
If you get rid of the controversial members, get more Bulgarians at active and leading party positions, start accepting the fact that Bulgarian will be the official language (with English second -as we show at the moment how it will be) and that Bulgarians should have the authority of their own eBulgaria.....then I guess that things will be fine for you too...
@Imaginapolis: Wilkmot showed a lust for gold back when I met him, and his history in erepublik isn\'t exactly one of fame..
but I noticed a very humane and social part in him as well, so I decided to look away from his past and start working with him on the future.
I had faith he would start thinking more in terms of people (friends) than worthless ingame gold and power.
I knew he wasn\'t going to turn in a spartan or anything but at least it was possible for him to start valueing the people he \'worked\' with above foolish gold and power.
He changed for a bit, and showed some dedication to the uni and it\'s people.
but eventually to us unknown causes (though ofcourse I have my thoughts about it) made him pretty much abandon our cause not long after he became president.
well, hopefully he won\'t demonstrate his lust for gold this time....
wilkmot is gone
