ELECTIONS

The leaders and the representors of the community are chosen in democratic elections by the citizens of the new world.
Every country has a president, whose job is to run the country and appoint ministers, and a congress, which represents the citizens.
Likewise, every political party has its chairman - the party president, who is chosen by the party members.
As any other democratic regime, every citizen has only one vote, and each vote is equal to the other votes.
Furthermore, everyone can propose themselves as candidates, however it is only possible by being a party member.

These leaders and represantors are replaced once a month, each in a fixed date.
Therefore, every month there are 3 elections for different roles within the countries and the parties.
Every election campaign lasts 24 hours, when at the end there are 6 hours of pause, in which the votes are being counted and reviewed.
Afterwards, the results are being revealed to the public and the winners are announced. Unlike the real world, in eRepublik there are real time results too.

Congressional Elections:

hen does it take place? On the 25th of each month

Any special requirements are needed to candidate? You must be level 12 or above.

How may I propose my candidacy? By accessing your party's main page and clicking on the candidacy button between the 16th - 24th of each month. Note that the maximum amount of candidates in each party cannot be higher than the amount of congress seats available in the country. The first ones to propose themselves will be listed as candidates in their party congressional list. Othes will not be able to candidate.

Who can vote? Every adult citizen can vote for the party whose candidates he would like to represent him in the congress.

Who wins? Every party wins one or several seats in the congress according to the percantage of votes it has got and the total available spots.

How would I know which candidates from my party may become congressmen? Every party has a list of candidates. The party president determines the order of the list on the 24th of each month. Then, according to the seats your party has won, the candidates in the list become congressmen in accordance to the list's order.

What happens if the party president hasn't changed the order of the list? Then the candidates will be on the list based on their participation date - the first to candidate will be listed first, the second will be listed second and so on.

Do all parties participate in the elections? No, only the top 5 parties on the 25th at 00:00 can participate in the elections.

How many congress seats are available? It depends on the amount of regions owned by the country on the 23rd at 02:00. 1 region guarantees 10 congres seats, 2 regions guarantees 20 congress seats, 3 regions guarantees 30 congress seats, 4 regions guarantees 40 congress seats, and one more seat for every region above 40. If a country loses regions between the 23rd (02:00) - 26th (06:00) the amount of congress seats will not be modified.

What happens if a country is partially or fully occupied? Countries must have at least one region on every month at 00:00 on the 23rd & 25th, and at 00:00 on the 26th in order to be able to elect a congress. Partially occupied countries can elect congress just like any other country that is not fully occupied.

What if some party has won more seats in the congress than its amount of candidates? Then the country will have one less congressman.

EXAMPLE: Party X has 8 candidates and it has won 20% of the votes in its country. There are 20 available seats in the congress thus party X gets 4 of them (20😵. Unfortunately party X hasn't got enough votes to include all of its candidates in the congress, only the 4 top candidates in the list are now congressmen.
