The elections of August 25 were the first one with the new citizensfrom the baby boom active. A new record is made: 451 votes in congressional elections. That is more than the double of July.

BP and LSD were the government, LSD lost 2 seats, but the gain from BP was bigger than the loss 3 seats).
Of course many new citizens have Belgium as origin so BP got far more votes than before. Almost as much votes as one month ago in total for all the parties. The gain in seats was not that big but last month BP won the most seats by tactical voting. This time that was far more difficult.
As always LSD organised their party members so with tactical voting they gained some seats. This party knows and uses the game mechanics.
GLD won a lot, from 2 to 6 seats, but they had more candidates now and was active in all regions. So they could easily gain votes from others. It became the third party of our nation.
I&W lost 1 seat and became somewhat smaller.
All parties got more votes than last month except GVD. But GVD had 5 congress members before that did not write a single comment in one month. So this loss is the right penalty.
The biggest party will lead the formation to a new government. All other parties are in contact with BP to see what influence they can have on the next government.
Hopefully our nation will have a new government soon.

Voted, congratulations for your election.
It sure was a fun election. 🙂 There were more votes then I did expect, there are a lot active or at least voting new members in the eUNL! Indeed good tactical voting, LSD was the only party with a bigger percentage in seats then in votes. We were a bit pissed when at the last moment 3 of our candidates were kicked out, but that's the game of course.
To correct an error, 'GLD won a lot, from 2 to 4 seats', we went from 2(or 3 later in the month) to 6 seats with a win of 4(or 3), something we are indeed very happy with! Like you said, we did strive to represent our party in every region, in the end every region but the south. I hope this is not the ónly reason of our major increase in votes, but it's good to see it pays of. It was the principle of giving every citizen the possibility to vote for us in the first place, but nobody says no to such a nice increase.
Thanks for correcting the amounts of seats for GLD. Luckily it was correct in the final result. Not only LSD was active in tactical voting, GLD lost also seats because another party is good in organising themselves too. Good for our nation is that these parties that are good in organising were the parties that formed the last government. Use the resources you have to get the best result!
Glad to see you were re-elected Cocoamok. It looked like you were too far behind in Wallonia but luckily your party machinery kicked in and got the votes.
