Elections once again, does anybody care

Day 78, 00:00 Published in Romania Romania by Adrian Popovici

So we are at the brink of new elections, in less than 4 days we shall have the opportunity to vote once more. This time the vote is one of confidence in the front figure of the parties. Let's not underestimate the importance of the votes as each of the electees shall be a candidate for the presidency of Romania. What better chance to raise the quality of the presidential elections than this? Even so things do look a little grim, as an analysis of the parties leads us to think.First of all i shall start with the preparations for the local elections for the 20th. Even if we don't see the reason it should affect these elections, they are a great way to see in the minds of the current party presidents. The lists for the local elections is empty. As if no one would have the desire to be president, or no one is noteworthy for such a job. The only party that has an agenda in this case would be PCeR, which has already set it's contestants for the locals. Good for them?? Apart from the local lists the parties have bigger problems, and the biggest problems, i would think, lay in the Party Gerula. The weirdest thing of them all is that it looks almost like every member would like to accede to the position of Party President (and maybe even Country President for that matter) in this party. From the total number of 48 members there are 39 candidates for the position of party president. I would think this as disunity, and it would be hard to imagine a winner here, as one might think that every member would probably vote for himself. We know though that it would not be the case for this party, but it would still be interesting to see the results and the surprises prepared for them.

We pass from Party Gerula to the second most problematic party, and the largest party of them all Green Party. Problems here as well, but not so great. The number of candidates is great, but so are their member numbers. From 108 members over 20 are competing. This does not seem as grave as the Party Gerula's situation, but we do see a very interesting situation, as the current president of the party, also the president of Romania, Iepurilah is missing from the election lists. What could this mean, and what would this do to the party?? The situation in the GP is not great anyway, and they do need a strong figure to keep them together. Who knows where his support might go. Now that he has become a president he might let someone else take his place? Perhaps the current Prime Minister? Cristesco?

We're passing over to the next party as number of candidates per number of members. Partidul Comunist eRoman. The situation here is closer to that in the GP, but a little better in the sense that the number of candidates/members is just a little lower. What is even better for them is the fact that the founding father of the party Postal has rejoined the party as Party President and he is also a candidate for the party election. Things might look good for them, as they are the most stable party in Romania (not good from all perspectives though, as they haven't progressed for one month). New management might mean better times, and a stronger influence on the general population. PCeR has lost for the third time the general elections, and this is starting to hurt. Who knows, maybe a kick in the ass is just what they need (or three for that matter).

eRomania Democratic Party... Probably the strongest party of the moment, most members and great voting interest amongst the members. Great feats for obtaining power. Their union with PTT has just been completed and now they seem stronger then ever. Their numbers for the elections look quite good, as there are only 9 candidates from the total number of 83 members. Cristesco is also one of the candidates and we really don't see any surprises in this party. If their political pacts stay strong the political future for this party is quite strong.

And we saved the best for last. Blow Politics is the last of the parties that would enter congress in case of a vote, but we couldn't call them a great party no matter how hard we try. The party has been silent ever since it was founded and it is unlikely that any great leader might arise from amongst their numbers. So even though they are first in their certainty (2 candidates/20 members) we pity them for we doubt any good change might come within their ranks. Not one of the current party leaders is fighting for the presidency, though we do see narcis the founder of Blow Politics as a contestant. He might win, and we hope he shall carry his party higher, as i am sure this was his intention when he first thought of this party.

This would be all for our analysis, and we hope you've enjoyed it, and that it has given you an insight into the mechanism of party politics. We await declarations from party members and presidents, confirming or not all that i have said.

As a publicity stunt i would like to announce that Mega Health is for sale. A great bargain for 30 Gold, especially since it already has more than 10% of the production completed.
