Election Special

Day 413, 10:29 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar

Well, the only real reason this is being called special is because firstly, the election results of the United Kingdom have been announced, and secondly... because I can, really.

The UKRP's candidate, Deathtoll32, has won in an incredibly close result. However, this being written by me and the fact that the reason I can is because of the generosity of the PCP, I'm obliged to remind people that we, the PCP can at least take away one good fact from the event. Whilst our hopes may have been deflated or even crushed with the announcement of Relic losing, there are 253 members of the PCP at this time of writing, and there are 415 in the UKRP.

Now, I don't pretend to be a good mathematician, but I'm assured that including the support of the MDU for Relic (62), the votes tell a good tale for the PCP.

290 votes for Deathtoll32 of the UKRP.
280 votes for Relic of the PCP.

While this obviously does not make up for the loss of Relic, we can at least take slight comfort with the over-expected turnout and the previously-mentioned numbers.

I also neither pretend to have been around for a particularly significant length of time, but I would like to wish Relic with good luck in whatever he moves on to do and that you will be missed by a lot of people.

Perhaps hearts and minds are not enough.

P.S. This newspaper relies upon the support of you, the people (and Bob, for providing class-A economics). I would like to say thank you to all of the readers and hope that I am able to continue writing throughout this year, because no doubt there will always be an economical happening which Bob will clog up my inbox with.

Thank you.
