Custer's Stand is my own newspaper. Opinions expressed here are my own.
Oh, and I'll take my votes and subs the hard way... the honest way, thank you.

A No Nonsense Candidate

"Give 'Em Hell Harry" was a Soldier and a Senator before he was President.

USDP candidate, Federalist Party, Southeast of Ireland.

It's a 3-zone ticket from just about anywhere.
I'm not buying tickets or votes-- you'll have to be pretty serious about voting for me, or for the other candidates for that matter, to blow over fifty bucks on airfare. I'm looking for serious voters who want a serious Congressman to look out for their interests.

3x Congressman.
I ran three times, I won three times. I was active, I participated in Discussions, and I voted on almost everything that came around... I missed a couple Forum Votes, I don't think I missed any game Proposal Votes.
I'm not a economic expert, so I ask a lot of questions before voting taxes up or down. I'm a nut for fiscal responsibility, a strong proponent of oversight-- I want to know for sure that our high taxes are not being wasted. I'm a big fan of newbie welfare programs, they're key to new citizen recruitment and retention. I'm not a big fan of government funding of private Militias, but as long as they're getting funds I want to see some battlefield damage numbers and commune effectiveness-- just as I expect the same from our Military. Fiscal responsibility and oversight.

When I retired from Congress I ran campaigns, endorsed and financially backed several candidates into Congress. I backed soldiers, milita members, and civilians. I backed candidates from every political Party. Not my buddies, not according to any Party lines, not because they were so popular, I backed the best candidates. And most of the candidates I backed won.

I've been out of the country... well, in and out, anyways, these past few months.
It started out as a request to babysit Party Presidency of the Swiss Liberal Party to prevent it from going to a known Russian Shaolin PTO'er as the presiding PP was leaving. While doing that I got to know the people and situation in Switzerland, and ended up returning at the request of the Swiss President to form a permanent non-partisan national army.
During my tour in Switzerland I was also tasked with, in addition to being Commander of the fledgling Swiss Armed Forces, representing Switzerland's military interests to EDEN and the world, near the end of my stay I served as Assistant Minister of Defense and also Ambassador to the US. I now serve the US as Ambassador to Switzerland.
The whole Swiss situation is incredibly complicated, I won't even try to summarize it here, except to say that the political scene there remains extremely volatile... Switzerland continues to struggle toward internal stability while facing threat of military invasion. I continue to support the Free Swiss even as I have returned to my own beloved homeland.
Edit: the cheese has hit the fan! http://www.erepublik.com/en/military/battlefield/3563

I am a soldier, have been nearly all my eLife. I used to say "I've got a resume as log as your friggin' arm" but that has been far surpassed by a lot of super active players. Still, my accomplishments are substantial and I enjoy the respect of my fellow soldiers and more than a few civilians.
I am really, really happy to be back at my little desk, as Cavalry Public Affairs Officer, publishing the Cavalry Saber newspaper.

Obviously, I support our Military and am interested in seeing the US Military properly funded in order to do the job of fighting for not only our freedom at home but that of our allies and friends abroad.
Like I said before, I leave the economics to the economists.. I'm not so thrilled about the 23% Income Tax, and I will want a close look at not only the Budget but also whatever oversight is being done to see that we're getting the best bang for our buck.

It's going to come up, if it hasn't already, so let's get this out of the way right now.
I was originally assigned to New York, against Young Henry Arundel, aka Pfeiffer.
You may remember some of my political campaigns in the past, for Congress and before that for Party President of the original American Military Party, that turned into absurd media circus sideshows. As entertaining as they were for the public to watch, they stressed me out like crazy.
When the FEC sheet came out a few days ago Young Henry jumped at my placement as his main opponent and immediately set about jabbing and jibing, trying to goad me into another public spectacle of a campaign. Well, I'm not playin' that crap.. just not doing it.
I asked Fed PP Angelini to move me.. anywhere. I'd rather run against GLaDOS or even the legendary Josh Frost, because win or lose I'd know it would be a straight campaign and not a stress-fest for my opponent's amusement.

On the subject of stress-fests...
I'll be active and I'll participate in Discussions, but I will not engage anyone in pointless high anxiety bullsh*t debates. The jerks ain't goin' away or changing their tactics, but they're not sucking me into that nonsense. Don't look for me in the eUSForums participating in public trials by humiliation and harassment, either. The jerks make that their playground, to pump up their own and each other's egos, they can do that without me. Been there, done that, I ain't playin' that sh*t.

Because Fed PP Angelini moved me on the last day, I appear on the Private version of the FEC sheet color coded as a Blocker. Before any Election Officials have a cow, I'm a proper running candidate, not a Blocker or a spoiler, we just have to get ahold of Rod to have that changed on the sheet... and you know how hard he is to get ahold of sometimes.
Edit: Found Rod, color coding corrected now.

I'll be in Congress doing my job. I'll be at my Cavalry paper doing my job. I'll be on IRC doing that Ambassador job. I got me a newspaper of my own for a soapbox-- if I have anything to say beyond Congress and Cavalry business, you can read it right here in Custer's Stand... you know I'm not shy.

I wish my fellow candidates in Southeast of Ireland lots of luck. I trust that no matter which of us wins, that America will have a hard working Congressman in office. I'd like that Congressman to be me.

If you'd like to endorse me for Congress, feel free to add this banner to your own newspaper article.

I'll publish again early tomorrow, Election Day, with a short list of my own personal endorsements.
Meanwhile, how 'bout you see if you can scrape up fifty bucks for round trip airfare to Ireland.

Custer's Mantra:

What kind of game do you play, what kind of players do you like to align yourself with?
What kind of leaders do you want, what kind of leadership do you expect of them?
What kind of country do you want to "live" in and play for?
