EDITORIAL: Lower Import Tax on Housing
The Reality Czech
Jan Khysl (20 Dec. 200😎
For those unfamiliar with the current Czech housing market, it is made up of, at the moment, four actively selling companies: two Czech, two Spanish. The Spanish companies sell q1 and q4 houses while the Czech companies sell q2 and q3 housing.
But, as someone looking for an affordable house, I am given one inflated choice. Asturiana de Casas, the q1 Spanish housing company, sells houses at 629 CZK, a price inflated with heavy tariffs for foreign competition. Unfortunately, as no Czech competition exists, this is a price that one cannot avoid. The Czech companies do offer better quality housing but at so steep a price that they are unaffordable for young players.
So, I call upon the Czech government to lower the income tax on the housing sector in the hopes that they realize that there really is no foreign competition to local Czech companies (who do not even have employees) and that the only people who are suffering under these heavy taxes are us. Without the strong tariffs that are currently in place, q1 houses would be an affordable 450 CZK, a price that many would be able to afford. With cheap houses, we would experience greater and more abundant wellness leading to increased productivity and a stronger economy.
Let us do what we can to strengthen ourselves today, so that we can be strong tomorrow.

The income tax is 5%. It isn't the problem. I think you mean import tax.
What we should be worried about is that there is no housing competition in Czech, not the fact that foreign houses are so high. Czech Republic's main resources are Wheat (for food) and Lumber (for houses). We have the resources for this business, the problem you mention, is that we have no business. I think we should focus on developing a housing business first before we talk about lowering the taxes.
The taxes were originally put there to help our own businesses; so lowering them would be taking a few steps back in setting one up initially.
I do in fact mean import, excuse my error.
This seems to be the generic answer to everything, though. That we should foster business at home. While this is certainly true, we seem to be expecting that we can do this all simultaneously. Until a legitimate Czech competitor arrives on the scene, there seems to be no reason to have such high import taxes on the market.
i have nothing against this...
Again, if someone think thats that q1 price should be lower, there is still housing company for sale, about 14 days - price is 19 golds, was 17-18 before speculant bought (http://www.erepublik.com/en/company/honey-house-q1-179524)...or this, with Romanian licesnse for 23 (http://www.erepublik.com/en/company/civil-reform-party-housing-123642). Nobody in e-republic interested? Well maybe competition works there.
We should open our market to gifts from abroad, I am still waiting on proposal about it. Thats needed.
Good idea, I agree.
Don't we have problem with lack of active workers and what not already? If we're going to focus on our grain and food sectors then we shouldn't be encouraging acquisition of construction companies. Regardless, as there is no competition on the market I see no reason to maintain such import taxes. They're not protecting Czech business interests at this point. When legitimate Czech competition arrives in the market, we can change the tax rate but for now it seems illogical to have such a steep rate.
