Welcome to yet another edition of the Anvil! This will not be a regular edition but I’ll make it up to you guys and gals next time, PigInZen, White House Chief of Staff will be my guest on next Edition. After some thinking, boredom, and talking to friends after last election, I have decided to run for Congress in the Treasure State, Montana! Muljo Gobet was elected to this state, but he was forced to resign when the Armed Forces called for his services abroad. We all wish him and the rest of our forces abroad the best of luck! Last month, many parts of the nation were still under occupation by invading enemy forces, but we have freed most of the nation. Only two states remain until we are whole again, and then we can focus ALL of our attention on freeing any occupied parts of our allies.

Well let me get the part I hate to talk about out of the way, me..ugh. I have been around for a while now; I know what’s going on and how the game works. I do a few things around eAmerica but I will mention those later. I am a person who loves his plans, I always did. I plan ahead by leaps and bounds, in fact I wrote this while in class watching ‘I Love Lucy’ (Got to love History of Television). I live by my honor code, an adopted motto “Always be Prepared.”(Boy Scout motto, I’m an Eagle Scout), and by Murphy’s Law, I use them as guiding principles. I am also a Political Science and Computer Animation double major, but my degrees are pretty much done, time to perform my duties will not be an issue. I will apply all of these things to my work in congress. I will give the same planning and thought to my work for this country. This is not my first time running for Congress, but nor will it be my last, but I answer the call to run for Congress, there is much work to be done.

Before we dive head first into this stuff, I wanted to give a shout out to some new friends in a new area where this paper will be published. eJapan! You guys are a lot of fun and a ball of laughs. I look forward to continuing our work together! I introduced myself here in the Japanese Forums.

International Update:



The world keeps turning after the massive attack by hackers a few days ago. I personally was nailed for twenty two gold, but thankfully that was returned to me. The exploit was found and eliminated by the admin. We can all just hope that this is true. In other news PP elections are over and the winners by party for both nations will be mentioned here. These are the top five parties.

Congratulations to all the winners!

It also saddens me to say that the United States Green Party (USGP) is pretty much dead this month. After a tough and downright dirty race Jimmy Loomis pulled off a victory through the most despicable means, the offer of money for votes. This basically became a domestic PTO before anyone could do anything to stop it. You want proof? Here it is.



Within an hour of his take over the USGP Presidency half of their forums were scrapped, it had some amazing features too. Moments after that the boards entire history, hundreds, if not thousands of posts were erased. Within a matter of an hour much of the work Kylero put in as Party President was destroyed. I had been requesting the Green Party endorsement but that request has been officially withdrawn and I will not accept endorsements from Jimmy Loomis or his goons. I will however be accepting endorsements from ALMOST anyone else 🙂

The true members of the Green Party have formed a Party-Government-in-Exile on the Federalist Forums and are working out a plan on what to do next. If you are a Green Party member I urge you to sign up for the forums and join your Green Party brethren in exile.

Now on the world stage thing have died down considerably after the failed Allied assault on Hungary-occupied Canada. Hungary cannot go on the offensive for fear of activating the very formidable American MPPs and America is gathering its strength for the next hit. There is how ever activity in Europe as Sweden continues its probing attacks against the British forces in occupied Denmark. Now let’s move on to the issues in this congressional election:

Companies:
Montana is a state in serious trouble, there only have fourteen companies and eight of them appear to be abandoned because they have no employees. I will urge my entrepreneurial friends and business leaders to consider using Montana’s high grain resource to its full potential. Within game mechanics you can work in any company in the country, we should use our plentiful high grain regions to export grain to other countries. We are one of the nations in game that is blessed with many high grain regions; we should exploit them to increase our exports and to spread the companies over several states to ensure that if one falls we don't lose half our grain companies in one fell swoop.

Hospital:
While I would love to say I would work on obtaining a Q1 for Montana, I can’t. A hospital in a state like this is a serious waste of public funds better put to use by helping fund our tanks. Anyone who promises anything to the contrary is lying, I won’t lie to you. As of 2:30am EST October 15th 2009 the state of Montana has 38 citizens. Thirteen of whom are American citizens; the other 25 have foreign citizenship. Unless this state’s population gets into three digits I can’t and won’t even consider talking to Congress about it. If you wish to reside in Montana you can only hope for an increase in the population, but there is nothing I can do. However if you want to leave Montana for one of the two Fortress States, Florida or California, contact me or one of the other US players and we will be happy to help.

Infrastructure:
In this paragraph I am obviously referring to the fortress state policy. If this war has show us anything it has shown us know the game mechanics is vital. Fortress States are key to our defense and survival as a nation. The two current fortress states are good for now and may in fact be all we ever need. In the future if the situation warrants it a 3rd will can implemented. The general consensus if that if we decide to do a third it will either be Pennsylvania or Texas, I am in favor of the former because if we do Texas I feel like we are abandoning the northern half of the nation. Q1 hospitals can be considered on a state by state basis, based on population.

Taxes and the minimum wage:
I wish I could give you better news than last time, but I won’t lie. Taxes are unlikely to change any time soon. This is because we have a war on, a good chunk of the profits go to funding our armed forces. Business is being hurt by over productivity, not high taxes. I will however work to change the new VAT on food, I strongly disagree with the jump to 12%, VAT the old tax of 8% was more than enough. As for the minimum wage that will never go up. Why? You ask, well I’d rather not go into the math but any need to raise the minimum wage is moot because everyone passes the need for this within a few days.

The War:
This war must be fought until we have freed not only ourselves but our allies. But we must also show compassion and forgiveness where required. Hungary, Indonesia and Russia have not earned that right, and may not for a very long time. However some of the smaller nations bullied into the war or getting involved deserve our respect and the chance to take our hand in peace. I do not support the idea of attacks motivated by revenge, that’s why we are fighting this war in the first place. Let’s not repeat the cycle.

A recent program that has gained my interest and attention is the distribution of Q1 guns through the eRepublik API allowing us to transfer guns to those who follow orders as rewards. This venture while unable to earn us a win on the 14th of October it showed tremendous promise! Hundreds of people who have never signed up on the forums DID! The offer of guns for following DoD Daily Orders was a smash hit. I think we really need to look into this program as a permanent addition to the budget for the duration of the war.

Allies and Foreign Relations:
Our Allies deserve our help just as they helped us in our most desperate hour of need. We cannot forget what was done for us, but at the same time we cannot allow them to dive headlong back into the cycle we are trying to break. We need to continue to support and help our allies. When it comes to neutral nations and those nations of our enemies, we need to do our best to repair the damage to our relations that have been done. These are nations that we have alienated with our past actions, we should not be afraid to reach out to them.

They have shown that even during an election it’s possible to be civil, moral, and just. Even though I was not in their party I took the time to talk to each of these party presidents and have a discussion with them. Their time and bipartisan attitudes should be noted as well.
