EDEN - The History of the Brotherhood

Day 1,927, 01:42 Published in Israel Spain by Belial Hadad

Hello eRepublikans

Today I'm publishing a special article about the history of EDEN, "the Brotherhood" and the oldest still existing alliance on eRepublik.

Two special persons accompany through the article, they are very experienced player named....

John TG
Everyone in Israel and EDEN heard about him (if not then you are a newbie). Israels long time MoFA and his representative to EDEN. He's also one of the strongest soldiers in Israel. Otherwise to say: Israels most important person!
I choose him because he's very mature, neutral and native.

Lord Vaako
A very experienced player of Turkey and EDEN guy. 4 times Turkish CP, 5-6 times Turkish vCP, 2 times Turkish MoFA, former aMC of EDEN and current aSC of EDEN.
I choose him for the same reasons.

Searching other guys for interview in the next article. Israel and Turkey were already.

Now we go to the point

The beginning
In late 2009 EDEN was founded by the greater ex ATLANTIS members with exception of United Kingdom and Germany. They didn't get an invite and decided to join PEACE CG.

Lord Vaako: I don't know if i am the right person to answer this since my country was different side those times but the entrance of UK and Germany brought some strategical advantages to PEACE those times.

John TG: ATLANTIS, successor of Northern Alliance(NA), was an alliance founded by almost all (NA) members nations, some Pan American(PANAM) members and some Mediterranean Alliance (MA) members. Sweden, Poland, Germany and United Kingdom were members of ATLANTIS including other nations as well. Basically ATLANTIS "died" when Sweden and Poland attacked (via military and PTO attacks) Germany and splitted Germany's regions. After this incident almost all members - nations supported Sweden's aggressive actions or stayed neutral except United Kingdom. Naturally, when EDEN founded these 2 countries (UK and Germany) dismissed from the new alliance and they went for protection to PEACE.

The United States left EDEN on March 2010 but there were no changing anything in relations with the EDEN countries. It was still close.

Lord Vaako: Countries in the different time zone have passion to rule their own game and stay away from the Balkan conflicts. Leaving of USA can be considered in this.

John TG: Basically United States were member of EDEN for around 4 months. United States are a great nation with a lot of players playing this game. EDEN's interests were focused mainly on Balkans wars because of Serbo-Croatian, Hungray-Romanian and Greco-Turkish wars. US had a "second role" on the military strategic plans of EDEN, so I suppose US wanted a more "protagonist" role in a new alliance. US left EDEN on March of 2010, joined Terra (along with Brazil and Argentina) but remained (until the foundation of CTRL) friends and allies with the most of EDEN countries.

A big change in the Brotherhood
On early 2011 Poland and Spain left EDEN and founded together with Hungary and Serbia the alliance of ONE. Later Sweden left EDEN and joined ONE too. So three of former members of the Brotherhood became enemies.

John TG: In December of 2010, Poland and Romania (two of the stronger nations of EDEN) began to have conflicts inside EDEN headquarter and in public. After these incidents, Poland signed a mutual pact protection (mpp) with Romania's "eternal" enemy Hungary and many Polish players fought against Romania. In January of 2011 Poland left and then in February of 2011 Spain left EDEN too. Then along with Serbia and Hungary founded "The World is Ours"(TWO) alliance after ONE and CTRL were dissolved. Sweden left EDEN for another reason. EDEN was focused mainly in Balkan wars and Sweden was "dying" because of inactivity. When Germans attacked Sweden, EDEN didn't support Sweden with full military power. Also, another reason that drove Sweden out of EDEN was the impeachment of the Swedish Supreme Commander of EDEN, shoot.

Lord Vaako: It was a benefical move. Spoland wanted to expand and rule an alliance of their own. Brotherhood of EDEN was not giving them what they really wanted.

In 2011 Turkey left the pro ONE side (including old friends like Indonesia, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Hungary) and decided to join EDEN.

John TG: Basically as far as I remember, Turkey was never official member of Order of the New eWorld (ONE). Turkey was member of Phoenix but when Phoenix dissolved, Turkey remained "without alliance" because of some conflicts with some members of the successor of Phoenix, ONE. Turkey had mpps with almost all ONE countries but basically was outside of any alliance. Serbia, Spain, and Poland had serious eRep (from the past) and real life (rl) conflicts with Turkey. This is the reason that sometimes some enemies of Turkey are having fun with Turkey saying "Turkey forever alone". Turkey was seeking for an alliance for "protection and supporting" reasons and then they joined EDEN.

Lord Vaako: Switching side of Turkey brought a way new opportunity to TEDEN. Damage balance was in EDEN side for maybe the first time in game history but conflicts with Bulgaria did not let this work for a long time.

Bulgaria had a big dislike for Turkey and didn't want to see Turkey in EDEN. After some conflicts Bulgaria decided to leave EDEN and change sides. After then the balance slowly fallen to the ONE side again. A mistake to accept Turkey to EDEN?

Or for Lord Vaako: Was EDEN the best option for Turkey?

John TG: First of all, for educational reasons, ONE is dissolved. CoT (Circle of Trust) and TWO (the World is Ours) are the two alliances successors of ONE. I strongly believe that the domination of CoT and TWO against EDEN isn't happening because Bulgaria and Turkey changed sides. I believe that Turkey and Bulgaria have "same amount of military damage". The reasons of CoT and TWO domination are USA's and Brazil's stance. These 2 countries were for years friends and allies with EDEN nations, and they were "keeping" the balance of world's damage. About your question if was a mistake about Turkey,as Israeli citizen and politician I want Turkey in EDEN's side. For many months Turkey was a hostile nation towards Israel and Israel was occupied by Turkey for months, so it would be wise for us to have Turkey on our side. I was representant of Israel in EDEN HQ when the negotiations were taking places and i voted positive for Turkey to join EDEN. Ofcourse I voted positively for Bulgaria to stay in EDEN as well but the other members-nations had different opinion.

Lord Vaako: After the famous Kosovo voting and the problems with Spain, Turkey had to find her own way. EDEN seemed to be the best option those times and it still is.

Lord Vaako, why Bulgaria has a so big dislike for Turkey?

Lord Vaako: I guess their dislike comes from their RL education system. In Turkey Bulgaria is an ignored neighbour which can hardly be spotted on map by RL Turks. The Jivkov ruling between 1954-1989 needed an enemy to raise the national feelings and 5 centuries of Ottoman occupation on modern Bulgarian lands helped to find that enemy out.

In late 2012 the USA, a long time friend of EDEN, decided to leave Terra and found CTRL together with Poland, Spain and Brazil. After CTRL was dissolved the United States decided to join CoT and fight against some EDEN countries. But the United States are still holding the Bromance and MPP with EDEN member Albania.

Lord Vaako: I am sure USA is not that happy in CoT and willing to see the new options. I hope they ll be back to EDEN side soon.

John TG: US officials are saying that the reasons that they joined CoT, are because of close relationships with some of CoT countries. USA was member of TERRA (a friendly alliance of EDEN). After Bulgaria's dismiss from EDEN and Japan and Chile dismiss from Terra they felt that they no more belong to TERRA side. Personally, I believe that USA predicted the "world's change", and they preferred to switch in "winner's side". Don't forget that USA in the past were occupied from Poland, Hungary and Serbia for more than a month. This hurted USA's pride. Also another reason of changing sides was the threat of Serbian PTO. They officially recognized that being allies with Serbia minimizes Serbian PTO threat. Unofficially they are fighting for Albania. Before the addition of Albania in eRepublik, many Albanians were US citizens, they had formed even a political party and they had close and good relations, so I suppose this is the reason that many US citizens are fighting for Albania .But not only for Albania, many US citizens are fighting for Israel too.

So John, how do you see Israel in EDEN for now and in the future?

John TG: To be honest, EDEN have a tough situation right now. Together with EDEN, Israel and most of EDEN countries too. We are not the only EDEN country that is fully occupied or having hard situations. Let's see the facts. Croatia is removed from Balkans and is hiding in India. Turkey and Greece have really serious problems with Bulgaria and FYROM. Romania is constantly occupied every time Hungary wants. Argentina struggles to remain free in S.America. Portugal, Albania, Bosnia and Israel are fully occupied too. Only China is sitting in their secured bonuses. After USA and Brazil changed sides the "world's damage balance" have changed. CoT and TWO are dominating in numbers against EDEN and this is a fact that the whole eWorld recognizes! Even with perfect organization from EDEN's side, EDEN cannot win. About Israel, with no doubt we have to be realistic. Serbia's damage is tremendous. Even with all EDEN warriors on our side, unfortunately we cannot win them.F or example, we saw it in Albania's resistance war before some days and finally they couldn't liberate Tirana. I'm not proposing to leave EDEN. Israel has close relations with many EDEN countries like Greece, Croatia, Romania and Albania. But I propose to start negotiations with Serbia about liberating us. Basically, Serbia has no interests in Israel's regions and bonuses so I think we can achieve the liberation through talks.

Lord Vaako, how do you see Turkey in EDEN for now and in the future?

Lord Vaako: Turkey is one of the most passionate and strong part of the alliance and willing to stay in this alliance no matter what.

The next potential country who will leave EDEN?

John TG: There are constant tensions between Ukraine and Romania. We saw official articles referring in their problems. The problems started because Romania denied to liberate some occupied Ukrainian regions. So I suppose that the next country that it will leave EDEN will be Romania or Ukraine. Depending on "damage strength" I bet that this country will be Ukraine though. Also, new tensions are being created in occupied countries, so there is possibility some of these countries doesn't afford the constant occupation.

Lord Vaako: I hope none of them will leave the alliance.

EDEN is still existing today, even when they are all in bad situations with the exception of China.

John TG: There are some countries with strong and close relations between them, so I suppose leaving your friend is not an easy thing to do. Basically, EDEN isn't like the other alliances, or its better to say "wasn't" like other alliances. EDEN was (and i hope is and will be) a brotherhood and not an usual alliance. Lately we have heard voices about lacking organization and people inside EDEN Headquarter(HQ). Some experienced persons decided to leave EDEN HQ, some of them are tired and some of them lost their interest. We saw many countries that decided to leave from the tree of EDEN. Did anyone notice why? EDEN must realize that there aren't only Croatia, Greece, Romania and Turkey as EDEN members. They are constantly focused in Balkans, Greek-Fyrom, Bulgarian-Turkish and Romanian-Hungarian wars. Portugal, Netherlands, Ireland, Norway, all of these countries were occupied for months and hardly they were getting any help from EDEN HQ.I don't blame them. How long an occupied country can handle an occupation?

Lord Vaako: Because EDEN is not created on regions or bonuses. Brotherhood does not need those to prevail.

It seems so that EDEN has choose the slow death. Would you wish an another death for EDEN?

Lord Vaako: If EDEN will die, I would prefer a fadeaway.

John TG: First of all, we don't know for sure that will be a death. But if I could see in the future and I could see a death I would wish for an instant death instead of a slow death. Personally I'm optimistic that we can change the situation but we need a lot of work to do for that. The key for all this is the "balance of damage". Bad moves happened from EDEN HQ and many countries left EDEN and TERRA side. Bad moves are the reasons that USA and Brazil changed sides. Romanian threat of PTO was the reason of Brazil's attitude. Croatia and China are on holidays on Asia while Greece, Albania, Romania, Bosnia and Turkey are fighting and bleeding every day in battlefields. If they continue this way, finally in EDEN will remain only Greece and Turkey. You have to sacrifice something so you can earn something else. EDEN must become a brotherhood again.

Victoria Aut Mors!

Thank you to John TG and Lord Vaako for taking time!
