EDEN's Mistakes, Retribution and Victims

Day 772, 00:58 Published in Canada Switzerland by HuCard

You reap what you sow; EDEN has sowed the embers of war, and will now be devoured by the raging flames having grown from these seeds.
The moment the alliance had left the path of righteousness and went down the path of ruthless aggression which had already caused ATLANTIS and PEACE to crumble it had sealed its fate.

The Asian campaign, while of course pursuing but the goal of weakening Phoenix, was not all bad. I brought Liaoning back in Chinese hands, forced Iran out of India, and might lead to Hungary and Indonesia also being expelled from these two countries. But the dirty means with which this war was fought on the back of innocent neutral states and the lack of respect with which they were treated taint this entire operation, and will bring upon EDEN retribution for their mistakes.

EDEN's Mistakes and their Consequences

The violation of Japan's territory was probably the most strategically minor error here. For EDEN it might even be favourable seeing how Japan, having to fear retaliation from Russia, now is more inclined to get closer to the alliance which its government back then had allowed to pass through.

The gravest mistake however was Romania's assault on Bulgaria. This small, unnoticeable member of old PEACE had not played a role in the eWorld for a while and was mostly innocent, yet Romania aggressively violated its sovereignty for its own interest. It was a despicable move, yet it will not go unpunishe😛 Cornered by EDEN, Bulgaria saw no way out but to join Phoenix, and has in this campaign since become a major threat in the Balkans. Its MPPs are active and its grudge against its invaders understandable and justified; EDEN has created its own enemy.

And yet this sacrifice was for naught. Greece's and Romania's attempts to penetrate Turkey failed, and the Ottomans' MPPs are now threatening the existences of these two states. Greece which could long hold out easily against their neighbours due to the latter's incursions not being backed by any of their allies sees itself partially occupied with the threat of once again being devoured entirely, and Romania is about to fight a war at free fronts at once: Hungary, Bulgaria, and thanks to Pakistan's move, Turkey as well.

Meanwhile, Spain continues to attack France. Its initial invasion of the republic was already a severe mistake fuelled by pointless lust for revenge. Revenge for a past crime of France which it has long atoned for and of a France which had changed. The French made peace with the USA and us, they were along with Italy some of the most dissenting members of old PEACE, and after the formation of Phoenix they did not join the alliance for rejecting its imperialistic doctrines.
And how did EDEN treat this neutral, peaceful country? By attacking it, and now waging a war against its entire alliance - the Entente Cordiale, also encompassing Italy and the Ukraine and probably Austria as well in due time. EDEN spit into the face of these neutral powers whose members had already shown to resent Phoenix's actions and ideals.
Our only blessing is that the Entente's members are righteous and honourable enough to not have turned to Phoenix yet, but if Spain continues its aggressions, it will be just a matter of time before they find themselves cornered and with no other option to preserve their bare existence but to ally with EDEN's worst enemy.

Sweden and Poland are in the meantime once again crushing their favourite nemesis Germany, wasting their fire power when it would be needed by its allies. It might divert a bit of Phoenix's forces and earned Poland an incredible boost in population, but it would surprise me if they did not suffer from retaliation afterwards.

The Victims

It would be well and fine if the only ones involved in the conflict were those trying to impose their interests unto their equal-minded foes, but those bearing the greatest burden of the war are the innocent bystanders.

In EDEN Australia suffered a brief partial occupation by Brazilian forces, and at the periphery of Phoenix Germany is being beaten up by its overwhelmingly stronger neighbours.
But it is the neutral states and alliances who have to bear the heaviest burdens and who are sucked into the spiral of war, despite their decision to not take any sides in these conflicts.

As mentioned before, the Entente Cordiale is under attack by Spain; Italy is struggling, and France is facing its complete occupation. The allegiance to old PEACE of these two states has long faded, they had shown their wish to merely maintain peace in Europe along their borders and they did not wish to ally with any of the two colossi, and yet they're being tormented.
Malaysia now faces a renewed invasion by Indonesia, making use of the current situation in which most of Malaysia's allies are occupied in their respective alliance's campaigns. And Japan, aside from infighting in army and politics aside, is threatened by Russia due to its former administration allowing the USA to pass.
Bulgaria has already taken the easy way out and joined the foes of its enemy, and it remains to be see how many others will choose this path.

EDEN will not learn from its mistakes. Neither will Phoenix when they become too greedy, go overboard in their counter-offences, and suffer the consequences. This eternal conflict fuels itself and will continue to consume those at the sidelines, regardless of whether they're involved or not. And this is last fact is saddening.
