Economic Warfare

So, recently I have been thinking there doesn't seem to be any types of Economic Warfare.
Wouldn't it be effective to send squads of people to enemy countries a day or two in advance to an invasion and have them work at low wellness? This could cripple a supply of goods ,such as rifles or bread, before a battle, leaving the army strapped for supplies.
Even though you would most likely be fired, you could continuously jump around into different companies and destroy their profit margins.
Is there any particular reason this strategy isn't used? Or is it a mutual respect kind of thing? You leave my economy alone and i will leave yours alone.

Actually this has been used before but now with lower populations, mainly 2-clickers, most economies can't handle losing too many workers to maintain production.
And theres also usually supplies galore. so in one or 2 days u wouldn't do much.
well that was just for example. I mean if you really had plans for something, you could easily have people in weeks before
it would tell them something was going on if 100 or so US mil people showed up working at low wellness for a week though

What would be a really thought out plan would be set up companies via organizations in a enemy company, employ a lot of people, dominate the market, and then just pull all your gold out to your citizen accounts and make production stop in the companies. Although this would take a little while...
