Economic Evaluation Day:1996

Day 1,996, 16:08 Published in USA USA by csabo07

Hello fellow eUSA citizens!

(Until I create myself a new banner affiliated with "We the People," I decided it'd be a nice time to break out the UIP banner once more.)

Getting back on topic, I'd like to get back into my traditional writing in hopes that some people are interested in what I have to say. In the event nobody cares, which is very likely, at least I can wallow in shame without the public eye fixed on me. So without further delay, here's my take on the economy; day 1996.

Just a little incentive to keep you reading!

Almost immediately after returning to eRepublik, I noticed the very disappointing situation with the market exchange. To the dismay of the middle and upper classes of the eUSA, the "improvements" the admins implemented 800 days ago have made it nearly impossible to rake in large amounts of profit like the good ol' days. For those of you who don't quite remember, the admins instituted a radical change in the method of acquiring businesses. You can read all about here.

this

I strongly recommend reading the article to get a clearer picture of these changes.

By lowering the price to be a business owner, the admins basically made it easy for just about everybody to invest in business. As a result, the number of businesses in the country increased drastically. These businesses overwhelmed the market with low level products such as iron, wheat, Lv. 1 guns, and Lv. 1 food. This excessive amount of low level products caused drastic inflation still present today. As a result, working wages are rock bottom, gold prices are over $200, (as opposed to $50-$70 before the change) raw resource prices are averaging at $0.03 (As opposed to $0.08 just as these changes were implemented.), and the price of Lv. 1 guns and food are sometimes cheaper than raw resources! The ripple effect of these changes over the last 2 years have even taken their toll on higher level businesses.

All aboard the S.S. Admin!

I urge the middle class business owner to reflect on the good ol' days where becoming a business owner was something that required hard work and dedication; not just a wave of the magic wand by the admins. Think of the feeling of accomplishment that flowed through you every time you pulled in a respectable revenue; back when it was necessary to keep your employees in line and close examination of the markets was necessary to reach full productivity. I'm sorry to say those times are gone. DEAD. All we are left is the battered corpse of capitalism we once possessed. In its place, we find a heavily regulated one-click interface controlled by an inflated market that encourages equal wages among everybody.

Don't you just love the smell of communism in the morning?

Unfortunately, there is little we can do against this. Unlike a real economy, the economic structure of erepublik lies in the hands of the admins. Perhaps in the future, they will loosen our leashes a little more.

Until then, one can always dream of a laissez faire economic policy!

For those of you who took the time to read this article, your country thanks you!
