eCanada: Don't wake the bear!

Day 1,916, 07:46 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Professor Evil

Whatever your moral concerns about grinding a nation's face into the dirt and keeping it down there with all the force you can muster, Canada's continued occupation (minus Quebec) by Spain is a godsend to the eUK. Our two nations have one of the strongest rivalries in the eworld, and while the feud is much more about fun than any bad blood, they would love to wipe us.

If Canada reoccupied its borders, it would once again pose a threat to us. At the moment, their collective energy goes into liberating their regions. Even if they wanted to pursue their rivalry with us at the detriment to their own liberation, they would have to liberate the regions to attack from first. No competent country would split its armed forces like that, anyway. It stands to reason, therefore, that Spain's occupation of Canada is a good thing, at least so far as this country is concerned.

Why do I make labour this point? Because while Spain are fantastic at keeping Canada occupied, I think they're owed the maximum help. At the moment, battle orders are increasingly centered around Macedonia's neighbour struggles. Without meaning to offend the citizens of the FYROM, I don't find these battles particularly worthwhile. As such, after bagging my essential 25 scalps per day, I look for alternative campaigns to spend my energy in. Are you the same? In which case I say, fight for Spain. The great Canadian bear is asleep, and the more we help the wilderness hunter tranquilise the thing, the less likely he is to eat our village.

"But Prof!" you protest, because I like to imagine me telling you this in person instead of typing it in front of the screen during the intermittent periods where I'm not trying to do That Thing they say you can do with practice. You know the thing. Marilyn Manson had his ribs removed to do it. "The sooner Canada gets liberated, the sooner we can have some real battles! And get our True Patriot medals." I agree, it's always better to fight for your own country instead of another, even if it's an ally. But the UK's prospects for conflict are high. There's Sorlandet, that charming little Norwegian region we've managed to hold on to for so long. When Norway get themselves together, they're going to want their region back. Then there's the future threat posed by France; at one point, and it could be sooner or later, they'll throw off their Polish occupiers, end the rent deal and become a worrying Channel threat. We'll have plenty of opportunities to fight for our own nation, and we don't need a wipe threat presented by Canada to ruin the good work we've done.

So if this has moved you, use some spare weapons and energy and fight for Spain in Canada! You can keep the bear asleep and ensure British stability for weeks, or even months, to come.

Viva Espana!

Side note: I'd like to wish Cyg my heartiest congratulations for his PP election, as well as all the new Presidents that won on Friday!
