Join the new world

To make a company under your citizen account you need 20 gold, be at least level 9 and be unemployed. That last part about being unemployed is the key. DO NOT MAKE A COMPANY UNDER YOUR CITIZEN ACCOUNT. If you do you can always sell it but its better to just not do it in the first place.



To make a company the right way, make an organization first and create the company under the organization account. Now to create an organization you need to be at least level 11 (waiting those two extra levels is a good thing anyway) and have 5 gold. The name isn’t as important as the location. It will save you a moving ticket if you change residence to the state/region you want to create the company in.



Picking the location for your company is the single most important step in creating a new company. If it is a raw material company (diamonds, grain, oil, or wood) you have to make it in a high resource state/region. You will not be able to keep up with or compete with the other companies if you are not in a high resource region. To find out what regions in the different countries have HIGH resources use the link under community for wiki select raw materials and there is a link for a complete list. If it’s a manufacturing company (construction, food, gifts, or moving tickets) your locations are much more open. You do not have to be in a high region. In fact it would be better if it wasn’t. High resource regions are targets for military invasions. The factors to consider when creating a manufacturing company are economy in the country, availability of raw materials and relations with foreign countries. You want to be able to offer good wages and get cheap raw materials to be able to keep productive workers and make a profit.



Now you are at 25 gold to start your first company, but you also need some cash for wages. So get 25 gold and enough cash to cover 3 days wages. The amount you need for wages depends on how fast you want to get to full production. The best number of employees is 10 for all raw material and manufacturing companies and 20 for all construction companies. I would suggest a raw material company as your first company. They are much easier to manage then a manufacturing company.



OK its time to do some research. There are three skills a person can have for employment. (Manufacturing, Land, and Construction) We will focus on Land skill for now because that is the skill used in all raw material companies. Check the wages in your country for each of the different skill levels. (0, 1, 2, 3, and 4) You only need to set your wages in the current top 3 wages to attract new employees. So write down what wages you want to offer when you create your company and write them in pencil. These numbers will change daily as the markets go up and down. Also keep track of what your product is selling for daily. In order to sell you have to have a low price to attract customers. If you were creating a manufacturing company you would also have to research the raw material costs and add those to your start up cash and again make sure you have enough to run the company for 3 days before you start. You don’t want to have your employees sitting around unable to work because you can’t pay them or because they have nothing to work with.



Now its time for you to create your new company. Pick the company you want to start with. Find a region that has high resources and move to that region. Create your organization and log into that account. Now create your company. You will have to use the financial section to invest cash in the company to cover the wages for the first 3 days. Now you have to get some employees. Post jobs for your company. The numbers for the different skill level employees can vary but I suggest starting low. Say 4 skill level 0s, 3 skill level 1s and 3 skill level 2s. Use the wages you came up with in your research and sit back and wait for people to start signing on.



The key to a successful company, besides location, is the employee wellness. The higher the wellness the more productive the employee and the more you can pay them and the happier they will be working for you. As employees sign on to your company add them as friends to the organization and send them a welcome message. Most companies have rules like keep your wellness above 90 when you work and do not miss more then 2 days in a row. Citizens can not be expected to have a wellness of 90 until they reach level 5 and can fight and use the hospitals to heal. Watch wages and prices daily and adjust wages up, never down unless it’s a drastic change and send a message to all your employees explaining the situation. The faster you make profit the faster you can upgrade your company or start the next one, but don’t get greedy or you will start losing employees and word might get around. It’s hard to recover from a bad reputation. Now a lot of General Managers do the little things like give raises when employees make a new skill level or welcome new employees to the company, but you will find things go better when you do.


Now its time to sell your companies products. Check the current lowest price and take note of the quantity for sale. If it is under 10 units check the next lowest current price and if that listing has under 10 units for sale, set your price just above that. The rule of 10 can be changed if you think its better for your market in your country.

Now there is an easy way to get a company, you can buy one off the market. Make sure it is in a HIGH resource region. Compare the total price to the company, any extra market licenses it has and and stock and or raw material it may have. Make sure you research the local wages and the prices in any markets the company has licenses in. Extra market licenses are 20 gold each so figure up the total worth of the company to make sure you are not paying too much.
