DPJ: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

The Democratic Party of Japan, Month Two

Yesterday
Just over a month ago, I announced that I would run for the Party Presidency of the then tiny DPJ. Then, there was only 1 active member in the party. The party, in essence, may well have not existed just as all party's in the third page do.

Over the past month, I've arguably had the best time of my elife, party-wise, trying to recruit new players and form a new image for the party. And I love to think that I succeeded in this part, with the party now the affiliation of a solid 20 members.

Today
Today, I stand before you, in my bid for re-election as the Party President of the DPJ. With what looks to be tight races in some parties, I would urge members to not meddle in other party affairs just for the heck of it.

Tomorrow
To all the new members of the DPJ, there is no doubt about it. The main goal for a party is to be in that first page of party rankings. My goal for the DPJ definitely includes that but is certainly not my highest priority.

Now that the party has developed a solid base of members, the next goal is to be able to influence Japan positively in some way. This month, DPJ will be actively involved in the Congressional Elections for the first time. And we will make a difference, a positive difference.

Metic,
Tentative Party President, Democratic Party of Japan
