Don KronoX, A Fallen Angel: I will miss you my friend o7

Day 1,552, 19:40 Published in New Zealand Turkey by Manny Calavera

I write this article with tears in my eyes for the loss that we all feel. Today is a dark day for all of us who called Don KronoX our friend. Don passed away today at the age of 32. My grief will pass, but I am heartbroken for his family and the people who knew him best. As for myself, I moved to eNew Zealand in December of 2010 and Don was elected president of eNew Zealand for the first time that month. He accomplished a great deal in the time he played this game (and it is just a game), but due to poor health he had to retire from eRepublik last year.

Don single-handedly turned the tide in more battles than I can count in our brief history and was instrumental in bringing stability and understanding to a young country that was at war with itself. I just spoke to him on IRC 4 or 5 days ago and he told me he was having another operation. I didn't give it a second thought, I believed that he would be fine and pull through like he always did. Now I lay in bed writing this article and I know that I'll never think of this game the same ever again. Please wear this avatar in respect for a great player of this game, one whose likes, we will never truly see again.

It may not be my place to write this article, but I don't know what else I can do. He was a good man, and it always made me smile to not only see him on the battlefield, but to talk with him on IRC. My best memories were the two of us fighting together and pushing the walls in battles not only for ONE, but eNew Zealand. I write this today in memory of a man who was taken from this world much too soon. In parting, I leave you with this quote from the movie "Troy."

"If they ever tell my story, let them say that I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses. Let them say I lived in the time of Achilles."

Let them say, I lived in the time of Don KronoX. Rest in Peace my friend, it was my honor to live, learn, and fight by your side.
