Dominik Sikora Wants to be YOUR Congressman for Yukon

Day 550, 09:58 Published in Canada Canada by Dominik Sikora

Hello, Yukon. My name is Dominik Sikora and I'm running as a PPC representative for congress in the Yukon. Before I go into my platform I'd like to catch you up on my ehistory.

I was born in Ontario, Canada, and quickly went about trying to absorb every aspect of this complex game. I learned about the holy triumverate of early play: work, eat, train. I then learned about the importance of war, especially early on in gaining experience and levels. I manage to secure a moving ticket in return for fighting for Romania. Once there I did more of the same, fought, worked, ate, and trained. I was able to fight five times a day and not lose wellness which kept me and my employer happy. During all this time I kept an eye on my home country because I knew my place in the world was not in Romania, I knew it would eventually lead back home.

It was then when I started writing articles once I gained access to my newspaper. My first article, War! What is it good for? Absolutely everything!, surpassed my expectations in terms of popularity. I posted it during a time of "war-fever". There were multiple articles with the same premise and the government seemed to take notice.

I followed that up with my second article, Come home, Canada, and help shape our identity, however it did not come anywhere near reaching the popularity of the first, which disappointed me because I felt the message was more important and it was more well written. This article shows my core beliefs with this game and this country and it shows what I want to do. This article is all about deserters coming home, which was kind of funny considering I was a deserter in Romania. However after writing this article I decided to lead by example and come home, only to wake up and see a Hungarian flag. I had to go to Israel before coming to Canada due to our countries being at war but finally came home.

So that's where I am today. Now that you know my history you should have a look at my policies:

Military: This is why you wait until the last minute to do your platform. If I had done it a week ago I would have been talking about helping ATLANTIS, but now the focus shifts, quite obviously, with the recent world events. The main idea is the same: War everyday is necessary for an identity change. I am not naive, however, I understand the costs of war are immense but so are the rewards. Training wars should always be up, and wars of invasion are something I am not opposed to in theory however the amount of planning and resources mean it is something that may be a long way off.

Foreign Affairs: Now that ATLANTIS is dead the foreign affairs situation is complicated. Our neighbours to the south have apparently turned isolationist. This leaves us with three surface options: Isolationism, join PEACE, find new alliance. Joining PEACE is out of the question for me. Isolationism may be the best bet for the mean time while we try and forge a new alliance. However, the large alliance that ATLANTIS had was fundamentally flawed and was basically Romania + friends. Of my time here I cannot think of a war involving someone other than Romania where ATLANTIS truly banded together. In fact the Swedish-German war has been such a debacle it showed how dysfunctional ATLANTIS really was. A defensive pact with the USA could be a start to a small, closeknit, defensive alliance that I would like to be a part of.

Economy/Taxation: A base of 10/50/10 is a good reference point for all industries however some have special needs. Iron for example is in a unique place in Canada and may need a boost to help make work. However, the Canadian economy is strong and the CAD is at a great place. The recent influx of Canadians coming home and immigrants has strengthened our economy. Alex Rearden is doing a great job and has made our economy something to be proud of.

Health Care/Social Services: RL Canada is known for these things and I want eCanada to be as well. Yukon has a Q1 hospital. This means you cannot use war to increase wellness. If you have a Q2 hospital you can fight once and heal twice, meaning +10 wellness. However, in the Yukon you cannot do that. You have to rely on food, gifts, and social services. The social service a province or territory receives should be in part based on the quality of hospital is has. A Q1 hospital is better than no hospital, it means we can fight, but it does mean we need special treatment Ontario doesn't get. Ontario is a dream to live in, we can make the Yukon the same but through different means while we try and improve the hospital situation.

Thanks for reading and check out the two articles I've linked. As a congressman for a region it is my job to represent the wills and ideals of the region. At the same time I would be a congressman for the nation meaning I would do things to benefit the nation as a whole. However, first and foremost I will be a Yukon congressman and anything that benefits us benefits the rest of Canada.
