Doesn’t Anyone Care Any More?

Day 4,367, 01:32 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by wingfield

Good morning, eUK!

Here we are, one day before the Country President election and there has been not one campaign article. Our Do-Nothing alliance of governors has nominated Appleby, who has a solid record of doing nothing in his last term, let alone frightening the life out of citizens on other occasions.

For many months now we have had to band together in an attempt to keep out the worst of those who wish to dominate this country in defiance of the popular will, whether of local or foreign origin. This has had some limited success but those in charge have seemed powerless to do anything about direct external threats to our sovereignty and political and economic independence.

Faced with another term of apathy and failure from an inactive leadership, I was forced to declare myself a candidate, to show the voters that at least someone cares.

We may well be supine in our grovelling acceptance of unpleasant reality in the form of conquerors who care nothing for us other than as a training war playground or a free market for plundering taxation and resources. However, people still log in and push their buttons and they still care about their lot in this community.

I cannot promise that a magic wand will be waved and our oppressors disappear. Neither can I promise that anyone outside of this country will even listen to my communications. However, I can promise that there will be some communication with eUK citizens, in both newspaper reports and personal messages. Surely that is the minimum that we should all expect from our country leadership.

Just for once, let us try another approach. I offer myself, with over ten years of eLife, plus countless military achievements and a long record of political service, as your President for the coming month.
