Day 561, 09:29 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Ministry of Trade

So, as I'm the new UnderMinister of Trade specialising in International Trade (which, honestly is a bit overkill in the name since the MoT only deals Internationally, but oh well), I'd like to introduce what we can do for you.

We'll be analysing markets which do two things:

1. Improve domestic pricing on Raw Materials (one of my pet peeves) through both importing and exporting products. This is done by exporting surplus to clean our own markets (namely Grain), and importing in markets which we currently overcharge in (namely Iron and Wood). Importing excess material drops prices to make them more affordable. At latest glance, it costs 120 GBP from the market directly to make 1 Q1 house. Many of you supply your own wood or buy in bulk, but that doesn't make it easier for Joe Schmoe Company who buys from the market (the intended source of the transaction) to compete, and therefore improve pricing. I remember when housing was around 50 GBP per Q1 house (those were good days), and while it is unrealistic to expect that again, I do intend to work on improving RM supply.

2. Increase exporting of finished goods to expected markets. New countries are coming, so GM's, save your Gold. They'll need products, and countries that are new and have baby booms tend to purchase more lower quality products than any other. If a country booms in population, many times production in higher qualities cannot keep up, so they buy more lower quality to suffice until their skill improves.

I've now got 5 apprentices, which I'll begin messaging shortly to start analysing foreign markets for shortages, and as I used to in the MoT, I'll be making reports every other day or so to good business opportunities.

Other things I'd like to do, with the help of my Apprentices:

-Keep a list of companies for sale that would make nice additions to new GM's and experienced Corporations around the World. Using factors such as salary expense, workforce availability, and RM hot spot information, these can be helpful to people in the forums looking to expand or become a Business Owner rather than an employee.

-Answer questions to anyone who has them regarding economics. I'll begin today to keep more of an eye on this section, as well as continually updating my Fact Sheets that I've posted at the top some time ago.

So, anything you need, let me know and I'll do what I can to help. If I can't, I'll direct you to the MoT (Count Drakula) to see if there's anything we can do.

Disclaimer: CD has all say on loans, so please approach him if you want one. I cannot give you an answer, and playing middleman isn't my strong suit.

Cheers
