Disco In Nebraska IX: On Service

Day 2,408, 15:20 Published in USA USA by Disco Musolini

Greetings all!

The final few days of this Congressional term have been spent discussing attempts at the value of the infrastructure that was lost when Air Force leadership left the USAF many months back and the validity and value of the debt. While I remained mostly at arms length from the discussion an interesting issue was brought up that struck a chord with me.

One of my first “jobs” in this game was as a platoon executive officer of the US Training Division in the days before World War III; I spent time messaging platoon members and updating records. This work would eventually lead to me becoming an officer in the US Training Corps where I worked my way up to Commanding Officer of the USTC Reserve Division, managing junior officers as well as player transfers from the Training Division and to other branches. I would go on to resign my position as I became less active and spent my time two-clicking.

Since becoming more active again, I have served in the Air Force eventually becoming the MU’s Commander, again managing junior officers in addition to overseeing the finances and supply of the MU, as well as two terms as Secretary of Defense, working with the USAF branch commanders to help them run their branches efficiently.

I know I am not alone in serving in leadership of national organizations and I acknowledge that others have done better work than I have, but I’d like to recognize that I have done my work without expecting payment or feeling that I deserve it. I view my service, from the early days of the Training Division my current time in the USAF, Congress, and the Executive as a contribution to the public trust of the USA.
