Defense systems and why we don't have them.

Day 683, 07:46 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by Thomas Thade

Greetings fellow eFroseans, I apologize in advance for this entirely dry article. If you you don't understand why we don't have defense systems read on.

Yes I understand that we could just point repeatedly to the wiki or to the forums, but it has come to my attention that people would just rather hear an explanation on this subject, and this seems an effiecient way of doing so. so vote it up.

Now mind you I know almost as little as most newbies to this game about defense systems so all of this is straight out of the wiki or from another's mouth (errrr... keyboard).

Defense systems aren't automated defending units as I first thought, but instead add a bonus to the defender's battle wall. a q1 will add 10%, a q2 20% and so on up to q5. The population of a region adds 100 defense points per person and therefore the bonus that defensive systems give are even more powerful the larger the population.

This increased wall increases the amount of damage and therefore time it takes for an attacking country to win a region.

Many may be asking why then do we not buy them.

To put it simply, if any country that we need the aid of defense systems against attacks us... defense systems aren't going to help. They cost an enormous amount of money that could be used for weapons or other resources needed for the resistance war that could be the only way of recovering our lost region vs such a large enemy.

as for the rest of our neighbors they aren't powerful enough to warrant a defense system. In classic military strategy it takes 3 times the amount of force to win an offensive war of attrition. There is no country that powerful, except for those so powerful as to make initial resistance futile anyway.

I hope this has been helpful, and I welcome any questions you may have. If I don't have the answer then I will try to find someone who does.
