LOL! So true! I doubt ads OR articles bring in votes in nearly any/every state, accept maybe Florida/Cal/Karnataka.

its especially funny because of the fact that everyones basically voted in by their homies anyways.
Building up name recognition is the motivation of the biggest offenders. I've never used any gold on citizen ads for my Congress platform, and overall I think fewer people do now than they did in September. How many times have you seen one of those and thought, "I should move to wherever this guy is running and vote for him"?
Illithian had a funny ad for his first race back in the day.
There is something to say for name recognition by "getting your name out there" but yes it's mostly a move by new players who don't get the way elections "really" work.
