Dear Mississippi...

Day 464, 11:23 Published in USA USA by Bill Brasky

Mississippi, I have a few simple words for you: thank you.

This congressional race was very close all day, and I have to be honest I didn’t sleep until it was all over. Killing Time and Jason Heulings deserve special recognition as they ran a great race, and it was very close in the end. I’m proud to represent Mississippi in Congress, and I assure you I will fulfill the promises I made to you during my campaign.

I have a few other things of note, mostly people to thank, and my thoughts on a couple hot topics. Of course, the voters of Mississippi are to thank more than anyone, I could not have been elected without you. You have chosen the right man for the job, and over the next month my actions will prove this to you Mississippi. Next, I have to thank my dear friends at the Federalist Party, who allowed me to run in the first place (and inadvertently caused the Dillon Smith/Gilroy drama in the Maine election). I also have to thank the AAP for letting my Federalist Party colleagues and I run under their party.

On to hot topics of the day:The “Impeachment” of Uncle Sam – This was proposed yesterday and caused quite a stir when the media got a hold of it. I particularly liked Justin’s response, as he would have become President once again if Uncle Sam had been impeached. (To read it, look up Justinious’ paper). I wasn’t too worried about him being impeached, and sure enough, the measure is failing. I chose this topic to be my first vote, an obvious “No”

I also voted on the other active proposals. My votes and justifications are as follows.

Mutual Protection Pact with Israel: Yes. Alliances are a good deal in my opinion, we have more people to come to our aid should we need it. Israel is a new state so it’s nice that we are able to form a bond with them right off the bat.

Minimum Wage Increase ($1 to $1.01): No. This is a waste of congressional time. We need real proposals, not this.

Tax Change Diamonds: No. I’m in the minority here, but I’m against taxes in general. Basic citizens bear the brunt of taxes and not everyone is rich (myself included). Until eRepublik can tax wealthier citizens more, I’m trying to save normal citizens money.

Issue Money (3 USD for .015 gold): No. General consensus is that this is a bad idea (the vote was 1 for, 54 against when I voted).

New Citizen Fee ($5 to $10): No. Once again, this charges too much of our citizens.

Donate 1337 USD to Lewdaism: No. Giving government dollars to private organizations? No thanks.

Thank you once again for your vote Mississippi, I won’t let you down! Subscribe for the rest of my voting updates, most likely once a week. I’ll also be asking your opinions on certain issues, so watch for my paper!

Once again,
THANK YOU MISSISSIPPI
